Rather than resort to personal attacks and a vague statement of superiority why don't you list some reasons as to how the methods employed by the video game industry, or industry in general for that matter, are actually having an effect on the condition of the environment?
People like hard copies because they're concrete, physical objects that you can hold in your hand, share with others, and as you so tactlessly suggested can pass down to you...
@AdmiralSnake and Vashlion
Sony made the new slim PS3 so they could reduce costs and actually make a profit off of each console sold. Using less electricity was a bonus, removing the ability to play PS2 games (happened before the slim I know) was not.
Yes, this is just another reason why CAPCOM is one of the most hated developers this gen, albeit a very minor reason compared to a lot of the other things they've done recently.
We have people like you to thank for DVD cases with holes cut in them all for the sake of "the environment"(aka cutting costs for companies while putting out an inferior product).
I still have the plastic cases for all of the CDs, DVDs, BluRay Discs, PS2, Gamecube, Wii (Thankfully none of the flimsy ones), and PS3 games I've bought with the media still in them. How many people have tossed the ones with the holes in them in the garbage and either replaced them wi...
Didn't the fans ask for Mega Man Legends 3 too?
People need to realize that when Geoff Keighley says, "I'm sorry you didn't like the VGAs this year. What are some suggestions you have that can help us make it better next year?" He doesn't actually mean it and he doesn't really care about your suggestions.
The same things were said about the VGAs last year and he said the same thing in response to the criticisms of last year. It will never change, so stop hoping that one day the VGAs will see the l...
I don't understand this article. A lot of gamers could care less about the VGAs (I for one didn't watch it) and could care even less about "game journalists". Felicia Day means nothing to me and Geoff Keighley seems just as unlikable as any other TV producer.
The biggest complaint about the VGAs in my opinion is that they don't really have an audience. People who actually care about video games don't like it, and people who don't care about video...
I guess if you want to play The Last Story or Pandora's Tower you'd better mod your Wii to play EU games, that is if you haven't already.
It seems like the lower profile games get beat up on more than the big blockbuster titles. Since not as many people care about a game like Arc Rise Fantasia reviewers can and do nitpick about it's flaws. Final Fantasy XIII on the other hand got a pass from a lot of reviewers. I own both games and I like them both, but I'm not blind enough (or deaf enough in Arc Rise Fantasia's case) to think that they don't have flaws, and I just wish "video game journalists" were mo...
None of the people who are involved in the production of the VGAs care about video games, and if they do they should show it by not having anything to do with next year's show. The people in the video game industry should boycott the show too, I don't think it would effect their ability to have it go on anyway.
By watching it on our part, and by participating on the industry's part, we are legitimizing this sorry excuse for an award's show. Stop giving it att...
Because if it's successful they can turn Metal Gear Rising into a franchise.
While I'm no fan of game journalists for the most part, they rightly had Nintendo clarify for anyone who may have been confused that the Wii U was a full fledged new system.
You may not have been confused, but some people were. They showed footage of it being used with Wii remotes and Nintendo has released other peripherals like Wii Fit, so I can't really blame anyone for being confused at first. Once they showed the graphics demonstration it should have been clear, ...
@theonlylolking
Spot on. The entire stock market rises and falls based on minutely stupid things. Nintendo has made some mistakes lately though.
I like Nintendo, but when you release a new system and call it the 3DS, reprice it at $169.99 and keep the DSiXL, the last gen system, at the same price, customers aren't going to know what the difference is. Do we know? Yes, because we actually follow these things, but a lot of moms and grandmas don't know.
If that wasn't bad enough, after E3, video game journalists were asking, "So is the Wii U a new controller for the Wii?" They're set to repeat t...
DA:O had random encounters when you traveled on the map.
@kevnb
I think the lack of support for JRPGs that aren't Final Fantasy has more to do with a lack of marketing than a lack of an audience. Final Fantasy games usually have great marketing campaigns, beginning with FFVII and growing larger from there. How many commercials have you seen on TV for Persona 3 or 4?
I don't think the anime style has anything to do with it either. One of the most successful JRPGs in the West has an actual anime series tie in...
Ok, so killing is out of the question, but apparently stealing is still okay for this guy.
Twitter and Facebook? Doesn't anyone actually talk to anyone anymore?
Tides of Destiny may not be the best Rune Factory game, but it's not as bad as this guy's making it out to be. The Rune Factory series is a spinoff of the Harvest Moon series, so there will be some elements that seem monotonous.
While the farming element in ToD was greatly minimized, I found myself keeping more monsters in this RF game than I did in any of the others since they're essential for farming now rather than optional. The Runey system is gone too, which...
This is a good sign, and another reason to give it a consideration even after what was FFXIII. This may be the first time that a sequel/spin off to a numbered FF game is better than the original game.
