I disagree, because your point is that games should be equal to other forms of media, but like I said in my response, the acceptance of anything into the already established "art world" is out of the control of the medium trying to gain entry.
Film was an outsider once too, but eventually it was accepted as a form of art. This wasn't because of the way film was critiqued or what film did in an artistic way, but arguably because it just couldn't be ignored an...
If you think video games are art, then they are already art. Some people don't think Andy Warhol's pieces are "art", but others would argue that they are. "Art" holds a similar meaning to the one you've given "fun" here, it depends on the person.
In terms of the mainstream "art world" it will take either an established "artist" making a video game, or a fad period where video games are the "it" topic to d...
My two favorite game companies? Together?
MGO was the best online multiplayer experience I had this gen. Compared to the vast number of FPS, MGO was a refreshing take on video game combat. I hope to see something similar in the future, because I'd rather play MGO than BF or CoD any day.
I'm guessing you're talking about DmC, and while I won't be buying it and I understand the reaction to the changes NT have made, that doesn't mean that the game won't be fun. There are a lot of games that I haven't played that are probably fun, but different people like different things.
Would I be mad if they drastically changed something I liked? Of course, and even though I mentioned that a lot of people would be put off by DmC for that fact, and N...
I don't think either game will do as well as the other games in the series, but that doesn't mean that they won't be decent games.
MG: Rising was saved from the chopping block by Platinum, so if they didn't take it we would have never seen it again. They must think they have something to offer if they're willing to rescue the title from the grave, and Kojima must think so too if he was willing to give it to them.
In regards to DmC, it'...
From the Wikipedia page: NA games:
"Metal Saga installs 1.7GB to the HDD to decrease load time and uses the HDD to save/load game instead of Memory Card"
Also, just because not every game requires it doesn't mean that it's a failure. The reason a lot of games didn't require it was because they couldn't guarantee that everyone would have it. Sony can't force people to buy something, but they can give you the option.

"When the thing is a hugely expensive hard drive, that's another. Final Fantasy XI tried to bring an online community to the PS2, and while other games did go online, nobody else ever utilized the hard drive."
Resident Evil: Outbreak used the hard drive to lessen load times. There's also a list of all of the NA games that used it, as well as the huge list of Japanese games that did. You could also run Linux on a PS2 in Japan.
The other "fail...
If I wanted to play Burnout or Need for Speed I would have bought those games. I guess if I want to play a real Ridge Racer game I'll have to stick to Ridge Racer 7 until the true successor comes out.
NSFW? What average person gets to play Soul Caliber V at work?
I like DBZ, but why don't they make a "Kinect the Dots: With Pee Wee Herman" game? I don't even have an Xbox 360, but I'd get one with Kinect just to play that game.
I'll laugh if they announce the new "iBox 720".
I don't think it's legitimate to claim that the rise of WRPGs has lead to the fall of JRPGs. This isn't Highlander, there can be more than one.
I think Kazuo Hirai will be a good president for Sony and I look forward to seeing his plans put into motion to bring better services and products to us as consumers and more success to Sony as a company.
Oh, and RIDGE RACER!
I'm a MegaMan fan too, but this is just sad.
No, it's because Christians and Buddhists don't retaliate for those depictions.
Yes, it is their decision, but their decision is the reason I didn't buy MvC3 and I won't be buying this, but I will be getting TxSF because Namco has won me over in the fighting genre this gen.
Harvest Moon and Rune Factory games let you get married and have a family, but they're pretty niche too. Then there are the Agarest War games, but I haven't played them because I'm not a big fan of SRPGs.
Rune Factory 2 for the DS does that.
Some people watched it.
I didn't, and I didn't watch the VGAs either, but I'm sure there was someone in the audience.
