Whoa that's alot of VRAM. The highest in mobile GPUs currently is around 4GB VRAM on the 780M iirc.
If the DS4 works, that's all I really care about. I'll have that sweet controller when I get my PS4 around MGSV launch.
Of course it can only be made on the PS4. Sony owns the IP after all.
What did they do to her face? The PS4 version looks great but her new face looks awkward and cartoonish.
Due to recent driver updates and tress FX being horribly optimized at release (namely Nvidia cards), PC equivalent cards to the PS4 provide identical frame rates to the PS4 version on the highest settings (60 FPS). XBO has a weaker card than PS4 and its PC equivalent. Therefore, lower frame rate.
It only confirms what we already knew. XBO is a weaker next-gen console.
As a pc player myself, i think the definitive version certainly looks better. They've had time to refine the game so of course it will look better. The price is out of line though.
What's the frame rate and resolution? (legitimate question as I am curious)
If it's 30 fps capped at 1080p then this isn't surprising, the 7870 is no slouch of a card.
If it's 60 fps at 1080p then they have wizards at Sony and I have to say it's a job well done.
They look practically the same (these are screen grab shots from stream too), which was expected. The only difference is frame rate and resolution (some PCs can go higher than 1080p.)
Looks really good though and my friends and family who play on console will definitely be satisfied.
In MMOs with structured PvP (GW2 or WoW) a high framerate is desired for low input lag. For an PvE MMO like FFXIV, it's not really a big deal, though I would've liked it to be 60 fps capped at least.
Even at 30 fps, you're still going to see frame rate drops in the big FATES.
I could've sworn it was noted to be 60fps a few months ago. This is pretty disappointing I must say.
I'd rather get Sony's new deal this holiday, the "Brack Friday Bunduru". That MGSV pre-order is too good to pass up.
"reverse engineering shows the real specs of the PS4's GPU and CPU."
*provides information we already knew and doesn't tell us the CPU clock rate*
The 7850 is a 7870 with disabled cores, it makes sense that the PS4s GPU is based off a 7870... with disabled cores. We knew this already. The question on everyone's mind is "What is the CPU's clock rate for the 100th time?"
Seeing this great game brings me back. Man time flies.
PS3 can play MP3s and has DLNA support.
PS4 cannot and does not.
Logic.
That's seriously disappointing Sony. I use my PS3 as my game station and media hub. I expect my new PS4 to do the same. It's funny how all the bad news comes out less than a month before launch.
Based on benchmarks, he should average a little over 30 fps at 1440p on ultra.
You're missing about 600,000 pixels not being shown when comparing 900p to 1080p. If that isn't a "considerable" difference then I don't know what is.
All this article proves is that every developer saying that the PS4 and XB1 "are about the same" were pretty much lying.
A higher frame rate also can contribute to a lower input latency from your keyboard/mouse or controller.
Can't believe we're only a month away from next gen consoles. I was thirteen when current gen started. Time flies man.
Can't wait for my upcoming PS4/PC combo :).
This news just made my day.
Recent findings about the 880M suggest that it's still Kepler architecture (GK104 - as the article notes). What it doesn't note is that it has the exact same number cores as a 780M, just clocked higher. Mem. bandwidth is the same as the 780M (256-bit bus as well so it's clocked the same). The whopper here is that it supposedly sports 8GB VRAM which is double of what the 780M sports, you probably wont even use 2GB with this card.
In other words, not worth the u...
