Eiffel is relating to the fact that you referenced a laptop from a store like Wal-mart. It doesn't even have a GPU. What he means is that if you set out to build your own rig, you can probably have a comparable or more powerful set-up to the PS4 for about 500 bucks.

Today's mid-range GPUs have little to no problem playing games on ultra at 30fps; it's similar to console games.

So yes, you do not know much about hardware.

Lets just ignore the PS4 running the same pace as the PS2, one of the most successful consoles in history, in terms of consoles sold. Console gaming definitely isn't slowing down; PC gaming is gaining steam.

Actually its on PS4/PS3 so if you only have a PS3, you're still good to experience the game :).

What does this title even mean?

They can just go on Youtube now and look at how smooth 60fps is compared to 30 now that Youtube has the option. And there's nothing really "Superior" about PC. You get what you pay for. You want higher quality, you pay much more compared to a console.

Flamebait Article.

As long as it doesn't have those absurd frame rate drops from Demon Souls, I couldn't care less. Fun game is still fun.

I like how the only thing people care about is the frame rate count and not the fact that the game is actually stable.

If it runs well, who cares if its 30 fps or 60. The game looks really good.

Lol who said you can't chill with a bunch of friends with a PC connected to an HDTV.

Me and my brother play Phantasy star online via emulator on split screen with our PS3 controllers.

The ignorance is real.

iirc vgchartz does not track the digital sales of any platform and digital distribution is how the vast majority of PC games get sold.

That said, the PS4 is indeed a great system for multiplatform titles.

You actually can't run alot of games (besides indie) with an intel HD 4000 unless you play in windowed mode with a resolution of 800 x 600 and even that may run a bit sketchy. Games are way too complex now-a-days for integrated solutions to be viable.

The bump in system requirements come from games being tailored for console specifications. New consoles come out and lo' and behold, general PC system requirements get a jump.

If you had a 7870 from ...

I'll say, they're absolutely smashing the competition in the console gaming department. Hopefully the can reinvigorate themselves.

So people in this comment section are ragging on David because he asks these people "Why do you care?". Why do you think Anita gets so much traction? The hate spurred up by people in comment sections like these.

I don't really stand for what Anita is doing but giving her publicity is giving her the light to shine. If she really is vermin, just let her die off.

And I totally agree with him. If you can't take constructive criticism without...

My PC is hooked up to my tv in my room. I lay comfortably on my bed while I play borderlands 2 with my friends using... *gasp* a PS3 controller.

It's almost like I wanna just chill out or something. I'm aiming for casual gaming.

The grind in ffxiv is probably the shortest grind I've known in an MMO to date. I'd say you just don't like MMOs.

Animations (3-D) are CPU intensive due to the calculation of individual polygons as they change vectors along with the mesh (bones I guess) of the object. The CPU has to keep track of the position of all the meshes and polygons that are being rendered. Depending on how detailed their models are, the more taxing this process is.

Maybe they needed more memory bandwidth since it is a unified architecture after all. Both CPU and GPU share mem. bandwidth. A drop in resolution ...

If this really is a parity issue, imagine Square Enix locking Tomb Raider's frame rate to 30 FPS and removing tessellation on PC to create parity with the PS3/360 counter parts.

People would call bullshit and probably end up not buying the game.

This is what's happening here and it sets a precedent that no one wants to deal with. If companies can pay publishers to dumb down games for a specific platform, it just invites a whole new unethical business...

I'm not too surprised from this tbh. With consoles being so close to everyday PC architectures, porting it over won't cost that much time/money/manpower compared to developing for the cell architecture and porting to x86.

That and SE has recently taken a liking to Steam along with FFXIV being a big hit on PC as well as consoles.
