"PS4 has now cumulatively sold through more than 35.9 million units globally as of January 3, 2016."

I believe Sony's figures were through January 3rd, while VGChartz is through January 2nd. That could be the reason for the slight difference in sales.
@Concertione I'm referring to the PlayStation 4 alone. It was the best month ever for the console. I know the Wii is the fastest selling console.
I agree that all three consoles have some great games that appeal to different audiences.
PlayStation 4 sales in November set a new record for the console. December sales should set another record.
It is a similar situation to the 3DS and New 3DS. Basically the same hardware with tiny improvements.
Those top games! Pokemon really helped sell the Game Boy!
Agreed! This is Sony's generation to lose at this point.
GTAV was a beast with more than a 20% attach rate.
The Wii was a beast! The entire top 10 selling more than 10 million units each!
The GameCube was an amazing system. So many great games.
There were so many amazing games on the Xbox.
Decent software sales for a console that sold 24 million units. Not surprising Halo 1 and Halo 2 are the top sellers on the console.
Hardcore gaming is doing better than ever. The decline this gen is with casual gamers. The Wii U has only sold a fraction of the Wii. The handheld market is also much smaller this gen.
The Xbox One is currently ahead of where the Xbox 360 was at the same point in its lifetime. No one says the Xbox 360 was a failure.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas as the top seller is not a surprise. A bunch of amazing titles in the top 10.
The PS4 has sold nearly twice as much as the Xbox One and more than the Xbox One and Wii U combined. How has the Xbox One won?
@Neonridr I do agree the Xbox One has a lot of great titles this year and next. It will help boost sales that is for sure. Though, the PS4 has continued to outsell the Xbox One all year.
The gap continues to grow every single month. I expect the PS4 to double the Xbox One by early next year.
PS4 should easily achieve that by the end of the year. I see it getting to 55m-60m by the end of the year.
