I have another monthly article comparing the 2 generations. That will be up tomorrow with more sales figures. When you compare the PS4/X1/Wii U with the PS3/X360/Wii sales are down. However, when you compare the PS4/X1 with the PS3/X360 sales are up.

The first paragraph has both combined and individual sales. How is that spinning?

The Wii U has tracked well below the Wii and even below the GameCube. However, the Xbox One due to its strong launch is currently ahead of the Xbox 360 during the same amount of time. This holiday is crucial to keep the Xbox One sales decent. If it under performs it will probably sell at around half of what the Xbox 360 has done lifetime.

VGChartz does do other monthly articles comparing the individual consoles. PS4 vs PS3. XOne vs X360. Wii U vs Wii. Etc.

It sounded like the Xbox One sold really well in China with really long lines. I'd guess 70k-80k were sold in its opening.

VGC after some research was able to figure out where the missing numbers were. Also this does include China sales for the Xbox One.

The 5 million figure was shipped consoles, while the figure for this article is sold to consumers.

People are saying the game is bad, because it didn't meet their impossible to live up to expectations. It is still a great game, just not the revolution people were expecting.

It should hit those numbers by the end of the year.

5.4 million units in two weeks is pretty good when you think about how much the PS4 and Xbox One has sold lifetime.

Yes Destiny will help the PS4 the most, however it will help boost Xbox One sales as well. Also Smash Bros. doesn't come out for the Wii U for a couple more months.

The Wii U has a 12 month head start. The gap will more than likely shrink a bit in September due to Destiny and releasing in a bunch of more countries.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of last years Madden opened with 1.08 million units in the US.

For a remastered version of a one year old game, definitely.

It sold just over 600,000 in its first week. Took 4 weeks to hit 1 million.

There are 4 months to sell 3 million units, including the holidays. The Wii U should sell more than 1 million units in December alone and another 500,000 in November. The Wii U sold about 1.5 million last November and December.

A Pokemon game would help keep the momentum going, as well as Zelda and a true 3D Mario game like Galaxy, Sunshine or 64. Metroid and Star Fox would also help a little bit.

With Smash Bros. the Wii U should have no problem hitting 10 million by the end of the year.

The Beta was a success for the most part. It is bound to happen that it didn't meet some people's expectations.

That is short of what Cowen & Company analyst Doug Creutz expected and not Sony.

For a remastered version of a one year old game those sales are really impressive.
