It doesn't meant it passed 30 million on December 31. But sometime during the week ENDING December 31. It will be around 30.3 to 30.4 million at the end of 2022.

The OG Xbox felt like a successor to the Dreamcast. Even the Duke controller felt like an evolution of the Dreamcast controller.

Sales have been down throughout October for the Switch by a fair amount. Though, hard to judge as the OLED Model launched last October.

The 3.45 million figure includes digital sales as Nintendo has access to that. The other figure is from Famitsu and only includes retail sales.

Majority of the boost for Switch came in Japan where it broke records. It was up in the Americas and Europe, but by a relatively smaller amount.

PS5 has had better stock the last few weeks. Lets hope it continues.

It is more to do with the fact there was really limited stock of Xbox Series X|S a year ago. Microsoft has shifted more of its focus on the Series S as it is easier to produce than the Series X as we are still dealing with shortages.

Switch OLED launch did help close the gap by roughly 300,000. 2021 is a bit over 1.2 million behind 2020. Even if 2021 doesn't catch up to 2020, it is still a great year for Switch sales.

This is the week before the launch of the Switch OLED, so a drop in sales isn't a big surprise. All consoles are selling pretty well right now.

I would expect Switch sales to remain down year-over-year through September. Once Switch OLED, Metroid Dread, Pokemon, etc launch sales could be up this holiday season. Though, we shall see. Console sales usually start dropping once we get to the age of the Switch.

PS5 should remain ahead of the PS4 as long as Sony is able to ship enough consoles. Same with Xbox Series X|S staying ahead of every Xbox console.

Agreed. Strong sales across the board. Switch is on track to top the Wii by the end of the year. PS5 is the fastest-selling PlayStation ever and Xbox Series is the fastest-selling Xbox ever.

When VGChartz posts the next hardware estimates it would be for the week ending July 17 and barring something crazy Xbox Series should have no problem crossing the 6 million mark.

@darthv72 Will you get the full price of the games back?

I know your pain. I've been trying to get an Xbox Series X for my brother here in the US and no luck unless I want to buy a bundle that comes with several games we don't have any interest in at GameStop.

There was a big drop of Xbox Series X|S consoles at GameStop that week.

The main reason for the PS5 drop is it launched in China the previous week, which caused a bump in sales.

Agreed it should top 100 million by the end of the year and outsell the Wii and PS1. After that is the PS4, Game Boy, DS, then PS2.

The Switch should be passing the PS3 by the end of June. The Switch has a chance of topping the DS and PS2 depending on how long Nintendo supports it.

Sony wants to beat PS4's shipment figures for the first full fiscal year of 14.8 million. PS4 being April 2014 to March 2015 and PS5 being April 2021 to March 2022.

Xbox has always been far more popular in the UK than in mainland Europe, while PlayStation is popular throughout all of Europe.
