A new Horizon and a new Spider-Man? Good luck MS. Sony really brought their A-game.

I'm super stoked. I think I ordered my collector's edition for the Switch, so I'll be sure to try it in both docked and handheld mode when I get it.

I don't think it was intended to be political. Who really knows what Villanelle's stance is on the protests? You can't make assumptions based on a simple pun.

I might be a little too fond of black. Well, if white is all that's available for pre-order I guess I'll have to make due.

Games journalism these days is such a joke. Journalism on literally any other topic requires some standard that clearly doesn't exist here.

I look forward to playing it, but it won't be for a while for me. I ordered my copy from Limited Run, who are still working on my previous order, let alone this one. Good thing I have plenty to play in the meantime.

So it's another Wednesday at MS's Xbox division, I see. MS doesn't like that their competition in the console market consistently trounces them, so they envision a future where the market shifts to put them in a better position. MS has been saying stuff like this for years. Phil has been saying stuff like this for years. Next.

Millions who only just got working internet? MS has been saying stuff like this for a long time.

I don't know, but I hope the natural evolution of the microconsole leads to something much more substantial.

I would legit love it if a company released a system that's just a digital service that contains various retro games, even if it's limited to a console or a family of consoles. That way, the limit of what can and can't be included would be much higher, and it would be largely up to the consumer to purchase the games they want, thus ensuring an extr...

It was on PS3 at the time too.

I'm glad this game is making its way to other systems. I loved it back on the Vita, but I'm the only one I know who owns one of those, and as much as I want to recommend it to other people, I'm the only one who can play it. So, I'm glad it's coming to something other than a system that has since fallen into obscurity.

I hope so. That would be lit.

I'm not the type to spend crazy money on figures, as nice as they may look, so a PS5 for me.

Indeed. Many people nowadays wouldn't understand the joys of bragging on the playground about unlocking this character or that one in Tekken 3, or just the sheer excitement of being rewarded with new content by playing games, or sometimes by finding secrets in games. It's something today's youth have been robbed of without them even knowing it.

I'd love that, but I'll believe it when I see it. There are clearly many ways to exploit the consumer, and devs have thought of plenty of them. I could post a fairly substantial list here. However, loot boxes are easily the worst such exploitation IMHO, and I'll take the small victory of them going away, should that come to pass. But, as much as I'd love for things like the in-game unlockable to come back, there's a fundamental design philosophy with modern games that ...

Teraflops are great to have. I don't think anyone is arguing they're not. But, it's apparent that there's more to hardware than just teraflops. The PS5's hardware looks to be well-optimized, and I couldn't be more stoked. That it's making MS executives sweat says a lot.

Yeah, they really ought to do something more creative, like calling their new system the PlayStation One, or the PlayStation Series P or even something "internationally friendly" like PlayStation Pii (we could abbreviate either of the latter two to PSP for short). There could even be a follow up called the Pii U! /s

Sony clearly operates on an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy, and while their system names aren't the most exciting,...

We'll see if MS does better this coming gen. A one-sided massacre isn't my definition of a rivalry.
