Only crooks who put those in their games need to be worried, lol.
Seems like their biggest mistake was developing for the 3DO of all systems. Nothing good can come of that, so they're forgiven for that. What's telling is what they've done since then, and they certainly hit their groove after that.
Sony has a track record of actually using the studios they purchase and making great games with them, so quality shouldn't be an issue. As long as the quality is there, I take no issue with quantity.
Another one of those one item per page articles? Argh!
I'm certainly stoked for the PS5. If it can play my PS4 games and with enhanced loading times to boot, even better.
If Nintendo rolled out VC two years ago like they should have, there would probably be DS and 3DS games on the Switch by now. But yeah, I think DS and 3DS are something they should do.
Those mannequins are creepy. I'm so glad they're not going to take over the world. In all seriousness, those are some neat hair effects. It will take more than that to get me back into supporting EA though. Hopefully other devs will have nice hair too.
Yeah, I'm sure reviewing retro compilations isn't nearly as straightforward as it seems as you have to look at not only the quality and quantity of games included, but things like emulation quality and options, and additional features. Heck, reviewing retro compilations also appears to involve more analysis of the menu system than with a standard modern title.
When a game loads, it should take a while. It makes it so much better. Just kidding, I won't miss that. Sure, I was able to put up with it in the past, but it's not like it was something that thrilled me. Besides, if I want to take a second to breathe there's a perfectly good pause button. Now I just have to wait until pre-orders are open.
The two-face movie about his backstory looks a bit weird...and not nearly exciting enough.
I'm not sure why games in particular are being targeted in an age where Netflix addiction is also a very real thing that people face, and yet the WHO doesn't care about that. I guess it's because games are more interactive, but allowing media to consume your life isn't limited to just games. Heck, social media and just plain technology addiction are things too. It's also not the same as having a substance addiction. I mean, it's not as though your body goes through...
I hope Google likes losing, because that's what's going to happen.
Well, I'm all for them expanding their, um....Horizon...s..., so long as they do a good job. I'm naturally weary of any attempt to convert games to film, but the potential for a good adaptation exists, especially in this day and age where TV series are an option. Sony has a lot of great IPs with stories that could lend themselves well to a more passive presentation, but it's really just a matter of having the right team produce any such adaptations.
I recently completed my strange goal of having every downloadable PSP retro compilation on one memory card...in 2019, because why not? TBH I don't really consider myself a true retro gamer as it's not like I have any interest in acquiring old hardware if I don't already own it, and I'm still mostly a modern gamer.
I could run down a whole list of the pros and cons of old games vs modern games, but I don't feel like it. It's also worth noting that t...
Well, there's always multiplats. I'm going to follow E3 for that. Well, that and I'm looking forward to hearing about the new Switch models.
@Spurg I've thought that twice already with the previous two Persona games. I've never regretted going back and doing it again with new content though, and I don't think this time will be any different.
Sony and MS are not teaming up. They just have a deal on that one thing. Also, while it hopefully means good things for their streaming services, that's about all I'm getting from this. I'm not getting any vibes about them changing their stance on physical media or the standard kind of digital downloads. Games journalists don't seem to be able to chill and cross bridges when they get to them, do they?
I'm sick of open world elements being put into everything, sometimes without much thought. Yeah, I think a well-crafted open world game is great, and it comes with a greater sense of freedom of exploration. What I don't like is when games that don't need it have large areas to traverse back and forth through that don't add to the overall experience and just pad out the game's runtime with tedious walking that also makes it take longer to get to the actual exciting parts ...
No, but new hardware would be awesome, especially given what we've heard. Are we going to go through this every time a new system is announced? Do we need the next Xbox either? How about the supposed new Switch models? Should we just live in a world where technology never progresses and we continue using the same old hardware for decades on end? Actually, retro and last gen gaming can be lit, but so is modern gaming.
New hardware is great for opening up new doors...
Neat.
