I have one and it’s alright, but it could have been so much better, especially after Nintendo released not one, but two better products.

That's great news for those looking for a cheaper model. I for one am holding out for the rumored upgraded model.

Well, the only reason Capcom won their longstanding rivalry is because Konami just bowed out, and seems to want to stay out. The recent retro collections are nice, and indicate that Konami still sees potential profit in their classic games, but it has been some time since we've seen something new from them, which tells me they still don't have much confidence in the success of new IPs or sequels. I hope they will have a change in management in the future, but for now they will likel...

Wow. It has been a while since I've seen a typo in the headline of an article.

And you would be the authority on what constitutes ethical practices, right EA? /s

One could argue that gaming in general is a waste of time, yet here we are. I don’t normally go for the platinum myself, but I do once in a while. Trophies aren’t something I need, but they can be fun.

That red line creeps ever closer to the green one in the lifetime sales chart. It doesn’t seem long until they meet.

From what we know of both upcoming systems they sound pretty similar hardware-wise, and will probably be pretty similar price-wise too. Services are great for those who are all about that sort of thing, but I prefer games and Xbox just can’t compete with PlayStation on that front. On the bright side with the Stadia on the horizon, Xbox won’t be in last place anymore.

You mean adding more and more creatures to the point where it's pushing 1000 is making it more and more difficult to include all of them, even with the games split into at least two versions and with multiple sets of games released every gen? Who would have thought? /s That said, they also have better and better hardware as time passes and media that allows for more storage capacity, so I imagine that helps.

I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't DLCed the heck out of this franchise by now as a series about catching and battling different creatures lends itself really well to DLC that adds more of them. I probably shouldn't be giving a corporation ideas on how they can exploit more money out of me though.

Except as a PS4 owner I've gotten my money's worth and then some. I also fail to see how skipping one E3 equates to "they took all [our] money and ran". There are still plenty of games coming, and I play games, not E3 presentations. There is more than one way to announce things or pass on information than one annual show in LA, as big as it may be. Besides, plenty of games coming to PS4 were announced by third parties, including Persona 5: Royal which I'm pretty sure...

If that was MS locked and loaded, they don't stand a chance next gen.

Is every article about this guy going to have a pun in the headline? I know his surname is fitting for his position as NA Nintendo president, but it’s going to get old. That said, he seems likeable enough to pick up where Reggie left off.

Banjo Kazooie and Rare properties in general have a history in Nintendo, so it kind of makes sense for them to make a cameo in a game like Smash. It's the kind of game that lends itself to that sort of appearance too. I also wouldn't call Rare allowing a pair of characters to appear in one game that's filled with a roster of characters to be "sharing" so much as making a quick buck from licensing fees and getting free advertising of an IP for multi-system owners, curre...

I for one don't mind if the writers for a game or any other pieces want to get political, or if they clearly lean one way on the political spectrum. I take issue when they forget to write a good story, and in the case of a game, forget to make sure the other elements are good. Getting political is one thing, but that's not sufficient on its own to make a piece of writing good.

I agree that a piece of entertainment should indeed successfully entertain its audienc...

I think that's a bit of a tall order given what we know of the tech in these new systems. I think $499.99 is more likely. I'm sure they will be sold at a loss even at that price point.

Truer words were never said. Sony will be just fine without having attended E3 this year, but this year's E3 just wasn't the same. Oh well, I'm sure next year will be much better.

Sony's consoles will continue to offer our choice of distribution, and even if you are an advocate for streaming, I fail to see why you would be an advocate for having no choice in the matter vs having a choice. I for one love physical games and will continue to buy physical games. I also like being able to download and save games to my system to be accessed anytime, whether I'm connected online or not. Streaming is an emerging option, but there's a lot that needs to be ironed ...

This hardcore gamer thinks the Switch is a great system to pair with something else. I haven't approached it as a primary system (the system to default to over all others), but it paired with a PS4 for example can make for a pretty excellent combination.

As for hardcore gamers "abandoning" Nintendo, I don't think that's remotely true. Even if their consoles haven't had as much success with the hardcore crowd as their competitors have had, they...
