....Crytek using the term "optimized", as if they have clue what that means. When they prove they can make a game that will run properly on more than a high-end PC...when it releases....then they can talk about "optimizing". :o
Everyone knows Gears (1 in particular) was light on story....scripting isn't exactly Epic's strongpoint. I think a book/novel is a great way to flesh out a lacking storyline. And yes...I'm sure the success of the Halo novels had something to do with this too. :p
....that doesn't look any better than the 360 version. I've been playing it all afternoon on my LG 52" plasma, with HDMI enabled on my 360; it looks exactly like that. This comparison was done by an amateur, with low-grade components.
...that the 360 version looks a bit better.
1.) It's 3rd party....
2.) This is the first game that Techland has worked on the PS3. They've already done CoJ on 360, and have been working on Dead Island and Warhound for the 360 as well.
....this is a poor job of reporting. This game is actually a 2 y.o. PC title, that failed miserably, and so they took more time with the 360 port before releasing it. That it "snuck up" on these guys is pretty sad.

This is likely just a liquidation of the older 12 mo. cards ; most retailers switched to 12 + 1 cards nearly a year ago. I got my last 12+1 for $37.99 from Amazon, and haven't paid more than $40 for 12 mo. in about 4 years.

'Crackdown' was likely the last great game to use the engine, which is undoubtedly one of the best, most versatile engines ever created. So many great games built on Criterion's baby...

Its similar to the Too Human deal...but without the lawsuit. I'm not sure how it works out LEGALLY, but basically Ubisoft Montreal has been tearing UE2 apart, and modifying it to the point where they are able to call it their "own".
