I get the virtual kick knowing that I am using high tech armour against most of the Korean foot soldiers.
Also it's cool sneak up cloaked in front of an oblivious guard, then suddenly appear from thin air, switch to super strength, grab his throat, and throw him against his partner who is 10 feet away, then disappear.
Power of imagination, folks.
notably the "Stack of Doom" is history (no pun intended). Before the sorrounding terrain had no strategic value, now with one unit/tile Civ5 will be more like a chessgame than "Risk". I have played and witnessed the evolution of Civ since Civ 1, I want to experience the change on Civ 5 to see if it works or not. Can't wait to get a copy this afternoon. "One more turn" time!
Yep even with the limitations of DOS, those flight sims were the greatest. With today's graphic capabilities and yesterday's attention to gameplay mechanics, it's not hard to think of a winning formula. Think F-19 Stealth Fighter, F-15 Strike Eagle, or Apache Longbow for this generation.
...which makes it fresh for BFBC2 fans.
I don't know why they included the animation on slapping in a clip of an AK-47 - the magazine is supposed to be fed in by pivot and it should clip in place.
Books, movies, games, comics, phones - it's all for good fun. Either there will be lots of bleary eyed employees today, or a "virus" that kept them off from work.
I'm glad those people had fun and excitement. And that guy who waited for 55 hours - all I can say "wow!"
I still remember who from Infinity Ward said that a year ago.
You cannot do this in Black Ops anymore - 18 max players is probably the optimal capacity for all the map designs in the game according to Treyarch. Imagine twice the number of players in these maps, or maybe up to 50 - it's camp and spawn killing fest. Though I never liked getting in overcrowded servers I understand that some love this. In that environment the trick is to find a spot with a good view of a spawn point and shoot all the spawning players (Free For All is the craziest).
So much good games coming out before Christmas!
Civilization V
Medal of Honor
Fallout: New Vegas
Call of Duty Black Ops.
So little time!!!
Yep, that's what's good about it - I wished there were more new places to visit and quests to complete after finishing Fallout 3. Broken Steel gave us the 30 lvl cap. Point Lookout expanded the adventure a bit, but it was still not enough for me. So...Fallout New Vegas will definitely provide me that fix - plus Aim Down Sights, baby!
ROFL
Oh I get it, they still do the banzai charge, huh? :-D
Prices for all games can stick to its original amount during release depending on demand. If the game proves to be valuable, the longer it takes to get discounted. COD4 (boxed) still sells around 40 bucks after 3 years at Best Buy, but Mass Effect 2 is only 30 dollars after a year. In Steam COD4 is $30 for download as of this moment.
It's not hard to imagine to buy a game in Steam if it's on sale for 50%-75% the price on retail or vice versa. So shop around before for...
Excited, too. While waiting, I just got the Broken Steel and Point Lookout DLC, and the adventure into the new unknown (i.e. new quests), makes Fallout a joy to play.
While the Wing Commander movie sucked, I do not agree with the author saying the game sucked, too. Well for him, maybe, but Wing Commander, more particularly Wing Commander 2, made Sound Blaster a household name for PC's.
I have the feeling over the years MS didn't really know what to do, or what direction they really wanted to take. They were born as a software company - and tried to go the way of a console maker company? Still, Windows is their main product, along with Office. MS Flight Simulator is...or was an icon in PC gaming advancement. That's history. Now they're doing CPR on it, would they still get the same brains and talent behind FS or Age of Empires? We'll see.
I'm amused by the amount of rage comments in this article. I can only afford a Toyota Yaris and my neighbor has a Lexus...yet I can say my car is better because it's what I have and I love it...but I'm just fooling myself.
Oh good Julian Gollop is still around. The first XCOM was totally addictive - he tried to complete a new IP by working on Dreamland Chronicles, which was quite promising, but never saw the light of release day. If he still possess his game design philosophy, I think his next project might be a hit.
I will reserve judgement until I will experience the gameplay myself. Then I could either say if it rocks or sucks.
I was expecting the one that always appears in EverQuest ads to be somewhere in the list - what was her name again?
I've been playing this since tuesday, so far it's still addicting as it's a Civilization game. However lots of things have changed - like we don't have any more control over specialists, research, and tax rates. The only way to provide more science, happiness, gold is by improving tiles and building more structures. The tech tree seems all too linear, but the way it's presented makes it easier to plan ahead. The 1 unit per tile is better in my opinion - and I love it when ...
