@JoY
It's exactly like this promo-video with all those Japanese developpers/producers who also happen to be in the directorship of their own third-party company. Of course when you do business you have no interests in biting the hand that feeds you, and these people know better than bashing Kinect/Move and risking to lose MS/Sony support, money and possible future commissions.
@The Lazy One
You're right the image is the raw data, but since this image is first converted into points could and then processed a second time to sort out information I thought it would be easier to explain it this way.
The only way to limit lag would be first to have a camera which has an internal processor capable of converting image to raw data instantly without the use of the 360's CPU. The camera should also be able to track your movements at least at 60fps, 30fps is good for games that don't require fast movements like dirving games, but will result in latency otherwise. I don't understand MS' decision to downgrade to cheaper semiconductors than the ones used by PrimeSens initally for t...
Here I'll repost the little comparison I made :
First, VGC figures of unsold hardware sitting on retailer's shelves for each quarter (and gap evolution between 360 and PS3 consoles "sold to consumer"):
as of January 1st : PS3 2.4 m / 360 1.6 m (gap : 6m)
as of April 1st : PS3 2 m / 360 1.1 m (gap : 5.2 m)
as of July 1st : PS3 2.4 m / 360 0.85 m (gap : 5 m)
Currently as of August 1st : PS3 2.6 m / 360 0.5 m (...
The problem with VGchartz is that they always pretend Sony is shipping alot more than demand and it's been now 3 quaters in a row (aka 9 months) that Sony has constantly 2 million or more PS3 sitting on the shelves. We know it's not possible since there was a serious shortage in the US and UK from March through May, while on the other hand 360 has, still according to VGC, way less consoles sitting on the retailer's shelves.
Here is a little comparison :

"Ubisoft, rofl. How are you going to ride that horse in Assasins creed without a controller? "
It's called kinect co-op : http://www.youtube.com/watc...
Oh look that's exactly how I said it works...
MS : "t’s ridiculously complicated and made up of tech that's been around for about 15 years"
Me : "MS didn't spend any time in developping kinect, they licenced Gesturetek motion control software that existed for 15 years (same as the Eyetoy)";

MS : "It’s essentially all the pixels that Kinect gets back as IR noise measured in v...
What do my credentials have to do with anything ?
People have provided you with a video where Gesturetek Director explains how MS licenced their motion control software (which is basically the same that was licenced to Sony for the Eyetoy) to implement it in Kinect. I know I did.
You've been shown articles which confirmed that Kinect wouldn't use PrimeSens internal chip (specifically designed to process data indipendently).
You've...
@Omega4
How much does MS pay you to visit gaming sites and spread their BS, because it becomes clearer with every new post that you have an agenda.
Now on topic :
MS claiming that "Kinect" uses less than 1% of the CPU is perfectly true... the camera, deprived from any internal processor, only needs that much to send data to the 360.
But it's a truncated truth since the motion recognition software installed in...
cheaper and 1:1 ^^
Loads of bullshit MS didn't reserach anything and didn't come with any concept ... they just bought the cam makers and licenced the techno from other companies.
Do you know how many companies work with Z-cam motion sensing control ? Here are just a few :
Gesturetek (software licenced to MS)
Mesa
PMD Technologies
Canesta
Willow Garage
3DV (bought, killed and buried by MS)
Prime Sens (which received a $20 ...
Preorders means nothing because preorders can be canceled. It could be fanboys like you showing virtual support, or even more evil, it could all be MS marketing strategy : false accounts preordering bucket loads of Kinect and then reporting the skyrocketing preorders on complacent blogs to hype the product.
@BigPappy,
To second what Pope_John_Paul said, here is an interview where you'll learn that MS is not using 3DV tech either - which was more accurate to begin with - but is using Gesturetek's movement recognition software with the Primesens camera, same software that was implemented in the Eyetoy
Just so you get it straight in this video movement recognition is more accurate because they are using an expensive hand-made precision depth-sensing camera ...
No MGs4 no Mass Effect 2 ? and his list is also lacking these :

It's very strange indeed that Sony is not helping these dev by providing them with this tech demo :

Well some people are ready fork out 50$/year for cross-game chat ...
See this is where you're wrong MS didn't intend to look into motion control technology prior to mid-2008.
What happened was that they saw Wii success, and knew Sony had a motion control tech in the making since 2000.
Sony could have entered the market sooner as the tech was ready for quite some time but decided to wait and see if casual crowd would adopt the Wii, then come up with their motion controler and cater for part of this new-found casual a...
For Heavy Rain I'd rather say trying to get out from the appartement on fire, or, if you made too much noise while inspecting the doctor's house the following scene is pretty intense and frightening.
It's just the typical worthless article from a rabid fanboy with no faculty of reasoning whatsoever and who grasps at straws with a piss poor argumentation.
Actually Move has been in the work for years while Kinect has only been purchased like in the begining of 2009 however the tech has been working for a decade now and games made for it too... like the "Burnout" demo that was shown in the Jimmy Fallon show and which was developped by Gesturetek, guess MS had nothing to demo at that time but Richochet so they probably asked permission to use it.
