There is no doubt that the 360 is doing well this generation. Good job Microsoft. I am glad that there is serious competition between the PS3 and the 360. The are both good consoles, and part of the reason they are as good as they are is because there is such intense competition between the two.

Eurogamer have never been against the PS3. They have always been very fair in my opinion. Just because their objective comparisons often found the 360 version of multiplatform games performing a little better than the PS3 version does not mean that they are biased against the PS3. In my opinion, Eurogamer have integrity and they are more concerned with the truth and being fair in their judgment of all games. They have given many good reviews to PS3 games and there is absolutely no reason ...

Killzone 2 is going to be awesome and nobody who likes shooters even a little bit should miss out on it--at least if the beta is any indication. However, Gears 2 is an awesome game too, and I will say the same thing to those that want to rip on the 360--you are missing out on some great games. The only way to go, if you have the money, is to get both systems.

You're silly. Killzone 2 looks great, but you are deluding yourself if you want to pretend that Gears 2 is not one of the very best looking games on consoles at the moment. Have you even played it?

Oh damn, reviewers better not nitpick this game to death. If the beta is any indication Guerrilla certainly know what they are doing and I have no doubt that the campaign will be very satisfying.

I have been watching my friend play the beta (and playing a little as well) and I thought it looked amazing, but you are right, the single player videos that we have just seen reveal that the campaign mode looks even better. Seriously, jaw-droppingly good!

This game has probably the most advanced lighting engine that I have ever seen in a game. And every single technique and artistic design choice all adds up to a game that comes closer to achieving the look of a CG movie than ...

Yes, this game definitely looks better in motion when you can see all the beautiful lighting and post-processing effects at work. The screenshots still look awesome though.

Looks amazing. It's even better in motion though, as I am sure everyone already knows.

I agree. Very glad to own a PS3 indeed. Guerrilla are so talented and they pulled off what many people thought was impossible: virtually matching the quality of that original CG trailer. All I can say is kudos to the developers and...February needs to get here ASAP!

I don't think there is any chance of Gears of War going to the PS3. MS has invested too much into the franchise and it is one of the most successful franchises out there, so I seriously doubt that MS would let it go multiplatform. I am sure that they would negotiate something appealing to Epic in order to keep it exclusive.

Personally, I don't care either way. I have both consoles and as long as I can play the games, I don't really care what console I am playing them on. On t...

You're wrong. From my perspective as a dual-console owner, Gears 2 is one of the best action games I have ever played.

I seriously doubt that with all MS have invested in the Gears franchise and how successful it has been that they would ever let it slip away. I would be willing to bet money that it will stay on the 360, at least for the remainder of the generation.

Oh come on, Ultimolu. I love my PS3, but there is no denying that Gears 2 is one of the best looking games out on consoles. Some would even argue that it is currently the best looking game on consoles. Lots of reviewers praised its graphics:

No, actually there have been several videos that showed the PS3 version had a few missing lighting effects that were present in the 360 version. The beginning scene in the hut where the Japanese soldier slits the throat of that POW showed flickering lighting on the ceiling of the hut in the 360 version that was missing in the PS3 version. So please don't just invent things to make yourself feel better. I own both consoles and I can tell you that you have plenty to be happy about if you are...

Actually, they claimed that the PS3 version of Mirror's Edge was better than the 360 version, even though multiple other sources confirmed that the 360 version had better anti-aliasing and less screen tearing. I thought the 360 version definitely had the edge and was surprised with IGN's contradictory opinion. So much for their pro-Xbox 360 bias, huh? If anything, they had more of a pro-PS3 bias in that example.

But come on, in all seriousness they are not biased. Multiple ot...

I agree with you. I mean, for people like me who own both consoles then obviously you are going to want to get the best version you can get, but if you only own one console it's not like there is such a huge difference that it is going to have a huge impact on the experience. You wouldn't even really know what the differences were unless you had them both side by side to compare.

I do like these comparisons though, because it helps me to figure out which version of a multipla...

Well, it's pretty obvious that the 360 version has the edge on this one. Every comparison has shown that to be true.

Oh well, I tend to get most of my multiplatform games for my 360, since they tend to perform better. Good thing the PS3 has some really nice exclusives to make up for it. ;-)

I know, hard to believe, isn't it? Those Guerrilla guys are technical wizards. We know the Cell itself is a processing powerhouse, but the fact that they can make a game that looks like THAT with far less available RAM than most bottom rung gaming rigs is just amazing. Of course, console hardware is static and that allows developers to optimize the use of the console's resources to run most efficiently. But still, Guerrilla are pulling off some amazing stuff there. Bravo.

When it comes to the individual it is of course a subjective matter as to which console had the best lineup of exclusives. However, in terms of something that we can actually measure, it is unarguable that the PS3 had a higher-rated lineup of exclusives in 2008.

Individual tastes will obviously vary and nothing should change the way a person feels about a game. But we can say unequivocally that the PS3's lineup received the better critical reception, while the 360's lineup had t...

I agree. The 360 had lots of good titles this year and this blog was completely slanted and biased. I don't understand how crap like this passes. Some stupid no-name blogger's opinions are not newsworthy.

6400d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Any non-biased person can see that this blog was highly biased and not newsworthy in any shape or form.

Both Sony and Microsoft had a good 2008.
