Great post and yes I do remember having to turn my PS1 upside down to get it to play games, I remember the problems I had with the NES, and I remember buying a second ps2 when it stopped reading discs and Sony refused to fix it. You are complete right: it is about the games. Well, the games and the online service. And the 360 excels in those areas.
Nice video by the way. Well done, and funny. ;-)
Yep, you're exactly right. Why am I going to get mad about the RROD when so many of us had our PS2s fail on us? I haven't even had the RROD, but I did have my PS2 fail on me. I knew lots of people that had problems with their PS2s, so why am I going to get "outraged" about the problems many people are having with the 360? In both cases it sucks and I feel bad for anybody that has had a problem, but oh well, you move on. Next generation things will likely be better.
Well, out of my 10 closest friends on Xbox LIVE only 1 of them has had the RROD.
Microsoft never said that the failure rate was 30%. That number was spread around by some journalists and fanboys and it was pure bunk. It was nothing but conjecture. The only semi-reliable numbers we have to go on was the report from a repair center that pegged the failure rate at 15%. But that was in the early days of the console and the problem is surely less frequent now with the newer chips...
Everyone keeps saying that we know that it is still a problem, but do we? How would we know? Sure, there are still some reports of the 360s dying but how many of those are earlier models? More importantly, how many of those reports come from PS3 fanboys who are simply lying in order to try keep alive the idea that the RROD problem still exists? I remember an analysis over at Neogaf found that the Falcon chipsets were FAR less likely to be reported as having the RROD. The newer Jasper chi...
It's completely pathetic for a playstation fansite to be trying to drum up outrage over the RROD. The problem has been greatly exaggerated and everybody knows it. For those Xbox owners that have had the problem, let them decide if they are upset about it.
The hypocrisy of these people makes you shake your head. They seem to forget about all the ps2s that had problems last generation. I had the DRE problem and I remember quite well how big of a problem it was. But all of th...
You tools love to talk about the RROD problem all the time, even though most of you don't even own a 360. You guys have exaggerated the problem so much it's ridiculous. Most of us have never had a problem with our 360s and that is a fact. In any case, the problem has been greatly reduced on newer models and might even be completely eliminated with the new Jasper chipsets.
Gears 2 will never come to the PS3, that is just wishful thinking on your part.
Microsoft h...
Hey troll, go crawl back under that rock you came from. You're spouting nonsense. The 360 is ahead by around 7 million worldwide. At the current rate the PS3 is selling it will never catch up to the 360. Even if it can increase its sales and sell a million more consoles a year than the 360 it would still take it 6 or 7 years to catch up, and by that time this generation will long since have been over. Gears 2 sold far more in its first day than MGS4 did and will definitely surpass its ov...
Absolutely. The Netflix integration is awesome and I'm really loving it. In fact, I really love the whole NXE update. It's nice all around.
When streaming VOD gets fully up to speed, you couldn't ask for a more ideal situation. Thousands of movies a click away. That IS the future. But it is a future that will arrive over time and in spurts.
Yeah, I really like this idea a lot. It would give extra incentive to get achievements and it would be a really cool visual representation of what you have achieved. If achievements gave us actual rewards outside of the gamerscore it would really elevate the achievement system to a whole new level of awesomeness.
The ps3 fanboys are only crying because the 360 has far more RPGs than the PS3. Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, Mass Effect, Fable 2...etc. Quit being haters. Just get all systems and enjoy all games.
Fable 2 and Gears 2 are two of the best games available this holiday season.
Oh, and you're completely wrong about the number of 80+ games on each console. The Xbox 360 has over 116 games with a score of 80+, but the PS3 only has 75 games that are 80+.
"why do 360's jrpg always flops"?
They don't. They only do in the eyes of PS3tards.
Seriously, why do you guys always jump on the very lowest review score and act like that score defines the game? Yeah, this game will probably get average review scores in general, but that doesn't mean that it isn't a decent game that many people will enjoy. For example, the last few games in the Tenchu series (Tenchu Z, Fatal Shadows, Wrath of Heaven) all got mediocre...
Why do people always act like there is some conspiracy against the PS3? That is so silly. Reviewers and game journalists give their honest opinion--sometimes it will be positive and sometimes it will be negative. I own both consoles and there are times that games or services for either console get a review that I don't agree with, but I don't see any kind of universal bias towards any console. Everybody has their own preferences, that is all.
I still don't know very much about Home. I hope I get in, so that I can try it out. I think it has potential and hey it's free, so what the heck.
Chrissy, that was mean. But I have to admit that it made me laugh.
But you have to admit that it has been delayed a lot. We have been waiting over a year and 8 months for it, after several false starts and delays I might add. I hope it will be good and I am looking forward to it, but the NXE is awesome and it is here right now.
NXE is really good. If you guys had Xbox 360s you might know that.
MS ripped off Nintendo Miis? Puhleese! Nintendo didn't invent avatars at all. Besides the fact that Miis look like crap--they don't even have hands or feet and their bodies are generic round bubbles and their faces are expressionless. They are nothing alike. If the 360 avatars are ripoffs of the Miis so are Home's avatars.
BTW, you don't pay anything to get NXE so you guys are full of it. Anyb...
Home looks like it could be good. But you're an idiot. NXE is awesome.
I'm sorry, but you are talking out of your arse. The warranty covers EVERY Xbox 360 for 3 years from the date of purchase. http://support.xbox.com/sup...
If you buy a 360 today, you are covered for the next three years.
I bought my 360 at launch and so now it is out of warranty. But am I worried about it? Nah, the fact that it has last...
