Quote from the article:
"We received a Lair Reviewer's Guide in the FedEx today, sent to us from the Closing The Barn Door After The Horses Have Left Department at Sony."
That's called confidentiality. If the competition knew what Microsoft was doing, they would respond based on the disclosed information. For example, if Sony knew that Microsoft was buying exclusive content for GTA, Sony would have made moves to prevent it. But MS is smart, so they made a deal with Take2 and paid them 50 million for more stuff and locked Sony out of any extra content.
I suppose everyone should just be friends and take turns getting deals?
The review does not reflect the 360 version. It's important since the controls are a major issue for RTS games.
The gist is that it is a good game with great elements, but is too short. If I had a PS3 I would buy it, though. Chronicles of Riddick was another great game that was too short. ICO, too. I enjoyed these games and don't regret buying them.
"Refinement" is the key word. They put the game out too early. (This is based on playing the demo.)
Sony always says "Spring" to give people false hope. The truth is that you never launch anything of import before September.
PS3 owners will be hyping KZ2 for another year.
The instruction manual should have explained the controls. Or how about an in-game tutorial? This is the first console game to use Sixaxis (without an option to use the thumbsticks). I guess reviewers are a little slow, so they get an extra guide!
The "how to review Lair guide" could have just said, "10/10"
Put a mic and speaker on the side of the PSP.
Sony needs to drop it now, but they can't afford the cut. They still lose $200 on each machine. If they cut it and sell 4 million this Christmas, Sony would lose billions and go bankrupt. Sony is treading water now.
I have no idea what it could be. It looks like a deformity with an open wound.
Super Mario Sunshine didn't sell as well as previous Mario's. Besides walking on globes in space (on some levels), I don't see a major difference.
As of Aug 24, 2007 the attach rate for games per 360 is 6.2

The Halo 3 beta had no disconnect issues and played quite well. There was some down time at the beginning due to some bug in the Crackdown access. I would expect some issues with the massive rollout for Halo 3 in the first few days, but I'll be playing the campaign.
Give Warhawk a couple weeks to iron out the issues.

The headline is supposed to match the linked article. If you read the article, the PS3 version is not announced! Although the odds are slim, it could be a 360 game.
I agree that the 360 or PS3 is worth much more, but the mass-market calls for a cheap console. For some reason, $299 is the most that people are willing to pay. The Saturn was released for $399 vs the PS1 which was $299. The PS1 won even though the Saturn was supposed to win (like the PS3 is "supposed" to win.)
You say that times are different, but Sony isn't selling enough PS3s.
We've seen this before with other consoles in the past. No console in history has launched at $499 and survived. It's also like the Saturn in that it's difficult to program. Now we see that it's losing in sales (thus repeating history). There is no good news in sight.
The PS3 is losing badly in all territories. There appears to be no hope for recovery. SquareEnix is publicly warning Sony to sell more systems, or else...
The Wii is killing Sony in Japan. If Sony was winning Japan, only then would it have a chance in other territories. Japanese developers are now forced to make games for Wii or 360 in order to eat.
Gears & Bioshock are 360 exclusives. FFXIII has never been referred to as "PS3 exclsuive" by SquareEnix nor Sony.
Speculation will continue until Sony, SquareEnix, or MS makes an official announcement.
