This has been know for a very long time. AC is officially 2008. But the rest of the lineup looks amazing. I would add Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. There are so many great games, I'm afraid some may be delayed to leave room for each other. (I hope not)
The word "likely" isn't very factual. "and likely N64 sold over 2 million consoles in 6 months"
They also guestimate that the Wii is outselling PS2 based on population. They don't account for the larger video game market. Perhaps the Wii is selling less with respect to the market?
It is impossible for Konami to ignore 20 million 360s (when it comes out).
When Nintendo discovered Microsoft's plans to launch in 2005, they were in the middle of re-designing the Gamecube to cut costs. That re-designed Gamecube became the Wii. I guess they were going to call it "Gamecube Advance".
Mods are mostly garbage. I think MS should support user created content, but I don't expect much success.
In general, all shipped units get sold relatively quickly. In Sony's case, it will be interesting to see if those 2 million extra consoles sell by the holidays. PS3's have been selling around 130,000 each month in the US. If we assume 300,000 globally, then it will take 6 months to sell 2 million.
This is earlier than I thought. It's going to be a solid holiday season for 360 owners.
My guess is many other big titles will slip into 2008 as well. Sony has been treading water since E3 2005. If any of those titles release this year, they will be duds. Either way, the PS3 will be in a severe drought for another 18 months.
The updates nitpick the specific searches and then claim victory for other consoles. How do we know that "wii" searches are not misspellings for "WWII"? When Wii was launched, the search results for "wii" were a bunch of WWII sites.
Don't wrap a towel around the 360 (or any machine). It isn't designed to be baked. If you get the 3 rings, just be patient and send it to Microsoft.
FPS are "easy to do", Mushu426? Try making a game that sells over 10 million copies. Halo 1 was a masterpiece, and pushed console gaming to the next level. I think Miyamoto is complacent, or at least defending a complacent Nintendo. Miyamoto supposedly designed the Wii, and that is not pushing gaming to the next level.
SMG, SSBM, and MP can't compete against the Microsoft lineup. Halo 3, GTAV, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, and Lost Odyssey will drown out any Nintendo game.
"Gaymers" are taking a stand in demanding more beard rubbing in games. I say, leave the developers alone and stop pushing your absurd agenda on them.
Assassins Creed won't be out until Christmas of 2008. It is officially a 2008 game, but I would bet that it will be late next year. Amazon made a mistake. I hope I'm wrong though!
I lived in France for 9 months. They don't like Americans. I've traveled all over Europe, and they are the single greatest nationalistic nation in Europe. I have been openly insulted countless times. Therefore, the 360 will have a tough time.
I always knew the alpha/beta screens were not final. This is Microsoft Game Studios. They have every resource available to tap the power of the 360. The game will look amazing.
But, you'll hear a bunch of whining from previous "PS3 owners" (ie, Nintendo fakeboys) that "got the shaft".
Nintendo sold 150,000 fewer consoles in March. So, if what you say is true about the list of people waiting for a Wii, then Nintendo is creating a false shortage. Nintendo was able to make 400,000 in Feb. What prevented them from making the same number in March?
It may be that it was actually cheaper for Sony to use an 80GB drive. So, it wasn't a matter of increasing the drive size to increase appeal. Since Sony allows you to swap drives in the PS3 with any standard drive, this theory of mine makes sense. The original Xbox spec was 8GB, but some models came with 10GB drives. The extra 2GB were not used.
6 billion is more than Xbox 1 and Xbox 360 development combined. (Including Xbox Live)
I think MS has spent about 5.5 billion on Xbox, so far.
