It was very polished and they've done some things to advance the game play. Most of the weapons are quite responsive. The spiker grenade is pretty weak unless you stick the guy. The turret rocket launcher is also weak (you have to go slow when carrying it and it takes 2-3 hits to take a mongoose down). The bubble grenade is cool, but perhaps it shouldn't allow people to pass thru. Since I bought Crackdown to play the beta, I learned that Crackdown is a fun game.
Ivy looks amazing. I can't wait fot SC4. SC1 on Dreamcast was a milestone for fighters. I hope SC4 can repeat that effort and push fighters ahead.
Gears has sold more units than PS3 consoles. MGS4 won't sell that many. Also, we haven't seen any gameplay for MGS4, so it is very doubtful that it will be finished this year.
If MS dropped the price to $199, it would be the #1 console each month and thereafter. This is assuming that the Wii maintains the $250 price tag. Nintendo would likely drop the Wii price to $150. It would be best for MS to drop the price immediately to force Nintendo's hand.
Wii owners would be a little angry if the Wii price dropped by $100 just 6 months after launch.
Sony has no leverage whatsoever. If they reduce the price of the PS3, they lose billions whic...
Price is key for the moment. However, the Wii's will collect dust and they will move on to the 360.
Once that technology is fully utilized, 9GB should be plenty of space. However, sound compression may not be as efficient. Still, it is extremely impressive to compress textures and polygons to such a tiny size.
Even if BD tanks, I think the FF franchise is powerful enough to sell over a million on 360. I think Square will bring it to 360 regardless. By the time FFXIII is released, there will be 20 million 360s, or more.
More textures are great, but I'm not sure that is very innovative. It could be helpful if it removes a technical hurdle for developers. Rather than "mapping" textures, you just paint the landscape. I want to see animation technology improve for clothing, hair, skin, etc.
The success of the Wii now is not fully understood. Zelda TP was the primary reason the launch succeeded. If casuals and non-gamers are buying Wii's, they may not buy many games. The Wii is an experiment with an unknown future. The analyst is way wrong about the Xbox investment. Too many people are looking at initial Wii sales and proclaiming Nintendo the winner. Just wait for September thru Christmas and let's see who wins.
Too Human looked the best out of that selection.
I'm glad to hear that it's fun. There's probably a good reason that they made the controlls that way. It's very good that they allow full control with the left bumper. I'm excited for this game since I never expected it to be good.
Maybe it will be a downloadable episode that uses the Halo 3 engine. That may be why we can "record" matches in multi-player. It is very efficient since it isn't video, but vector data.
Itagaki isn't fibbing when he says NG2 will be the best. Afterall, NG is still the best 3rd person action game. It's better than PoP, GoW, and DMC.
If there is a 2-3 hour limit on playing Wii games, that must hurt game sales.
Sony needs MGS4 exclusivity. If Sony paid Konami for exclusivity, the PS3 logo would be plastered on the film. You may be right about Kojima playing games, but it shows that Sony has no rights to MGS4. It is only the will of Konami that is keeping it a PS3 game.
Although Kojima said something that seemed to make it exclusive, the rumors and speculation haven't been extinguished. If it was truly exclusive, Sony would say so (very plainly). The ambiguity only hurts Sony, so we can only assume that MGS4 is multi-platform.
So the Konami logo was at the beginning? Good find.
If Sony had exclusivity rights, the PS3 logo would be there. Whenever you see MS publish a game, the 360 splash screen appears at the end.
There really is a difference with Monster cables. However, it looks like I would only need the cheapo type for 1080i.
MS should only buy T2 if they secure GTA4 exclusivity. Otherwise, I T2 isn't worth it.
