I've always felt that Lara looked too stiff. They compare TR to Uncharted. Although it's cool for Nathan to have 3000 animations, I would rather see 3000 on Lara.
He also mentioned the Halo 3 replays which we can record. Thankfully, we can detatch the camera and/or view from any character. This will be a fun and addicting aspect of Halo 3. It's just icing on the cake.
The combat looks promising. Molyneux doesn't like to make games frustrating which is the exact opposite of Itagaki (Team Ninja). Kameo had a very deep combat system that rewarded hardcore players, yet let anyone with fingers plow through with ease. Many people criticised it for being too easy, but they didn't try to get "A" rankings.
"All faulty" is not correct. They may all share the same design which may lead to failure, but it is not right to say "all faulty". Mine has worked perfectly since Dec 18, 2005.
Halo 3 looks amazing and it is a bright-colored FPS. KZ is a brown and dark-colored FPS. If you want to compare "realistic" graphics, use Gears of War.
Why attempt a AAA title with a franchise that didn't take off? KZ1 didn't do well enough to justify the investment in KZ2. KZ is not a Halo killer and never will be. This comparison is pointless.
Microsoft is slowly phasing the new chips and components. But the CPU isn't incorporated, yet.
60 FPS can make a huge difference, but for a racer, I don't think it's critical. You are usually moving forward in a racer, so it's hard to notice a slower frame-rate. But in an FPS, a high frame-rate is more important since you are looking side-to-side more often.
If you get amazing effects at 30 FPS, it's a good trade-off.
Microsoft focused on this year, unlike Sony. Sony has you excited for stuff you won't see for 18 months. The desparation is by Sony. PS3s aren't selling and they're too expensive to produce. Therefore, Sony drops the price on the old model and maintains the price for the new one. That has never been done in history for any product whatsoever. Sony is fighting Sony and losing.
The report said a memory card was included, too! If this rumor proves true, MS will win the console race for this generation.
PS3s are not selling. This is the main reason for the 60GB price drop. The 80GB model is refined and cheaper (no PS2 hardware in this model), yet Sony is selling it for $599.
Halo was a whole generation ahead of the competition and happened to be an great game, too. The scale and technical achievements in Halo were larger than any other developer of the last console generation. At lease concede that Bungie is in the top 10.
Everyone is curious to see KZ2 game-play. This doesn't mean that we want the game. Sony "won" E3 2005 and look where they are at now.
First, they lose money on each machine. So buying a PS3 without games costs Sony money. Second, you will be buying 360 games, thus increasing the 360 user base while Sony plays catch-up.
MS doesn't have many "new" announcements because they have a ton of games coming out soon. Nintendo and Sony keep showing "new" games that we won't see for 1 or 2 years. Killzone 2? It's "pre-pre-Alpha", so it won't come out for 2 years. Besides, MS has already put a ton of content on Xbox Live.
I agree. The pre-pre-alpha comment is nonsense. If it's gameplay, then it's alpha or beta. Pre-alpha was the KZ2 movie we saw at E3 2006.
I've heard strange things about the plot. I think there was a leak about time travel.
The QWERTY keyboard is a great option. I just wish they came out with it sooner. I don't like holding a keyboard on my lap.
The KZ2 screen doesn't impress and you've hit the nail on the head. People have been complaining about Halo 3's graphics and yet it blows that KZ2 screen away. I hope KZ2 has some better stuff to show, or the PS3 will look like a failure (again).
Somebody needs to tell the author to take a second look at KZ2. Where's the normal maps or self-shadowing? (The shadows were only cast from the silhouette of the model onto walls)
