The grammar on this article is pretty terrible.
Also, makes you wonder whether the longer a game series exists, the more it tends towards Call of Duty...
Exactly. You only have to look at the success of games like Borderlands and even Mass Effect to see that blending RPG elements into a game can be a very successful addition.
Also, open-world games are taking over the market more and more. 10 years ago, a game like Batman: Arkham City would never have been open-world. You only have to look at the success of some recent games to see that open-world is where it's at, currently. (Obviously there are exceptions, like Uncharted...
Not sure how some of the storyline would work with Wheatley being a human (or human-esque). Nevertheless, this is a great few seconds of animation!

Oddly enough, I didn't choose to wait a few years in the hope of it coming down in price. I was really put off by the demo at release (it doesn't really give you an idea of the story, which is key to Bioshock, nor does it let you really experiment with combat methods), and so didn't bother with the game until about 18 months ago.
Bioshock is certainly the highlight of this list, for me anyway. Honestly one of the best game's I've ever played, and I bought it for next to nothing!
My current concern for this game is the number of characters that either use guns (Radec, Nathan Drake, Dante) or swords (Kratos, Nariko, Raiden, Sir Daniel).
I'd much rather see some more characters like Sackboy, whose attacks require some interesting and clever twists on gameplay.

The guy with the dark hair and white stripe is Handsome Jack; the games antagonist.
Nice to see Super Rub a Dub on this list! Not that I own that game... of course... honestly...
Unfortunately, Deadlocked isn't in the HD Collection :(
But, Deadlocked is being released on the PS Network :)
Been really enjoying this game so far. It's certainly challenging, and requires a lot of concentration, but it's an intriguing idea that plays surprisingly well!
My first thoughts when reading this were that Nintendo had somehow got hold of Sony's WipEout series...
Thank goodness it's just another second-rate TV show tie-in game.
Is Dawnguard out on PS3 yet? I really haven't heard much about it, and my copy of Skyrim is gathering dust...
Not much of a fighting game person myself, but this is looking highly interesting. As a DC fan, I'll be sure to pick this up.
It was probably one of the single most surprising discoveries of the last 12 months for me. My housemate and I became really quite enthusiastic about Borderlands after a couple of hours of play. It isn't as much fun alone though, unfortunately.
But it's the sheer lunacy of the game more than anything. For me, it's certainly this generations TimeSplitters. It might not be the same kind of arcade-y deathmatch gameplay, but it's certainly in the same vein.
It's horrifying how often I see parents buying their kids Call of Duty games and other games like Borderlands. In fact, I think I've seen more mother's buying their under-10-year-old kids COD games than any other type of customers put together.
Just because something is a game, doesn't mean it's for children. Even if it has a cartoon-y art-style like this masterpiece of a game.
True, but then with these games, it's always important to have some characters which are easier to use than others. Some characters have to be more technically challenging to play as, and therefore harder to win with.
Reading this makes me want to play the first game through again. I loved the challenge and unique experience of playing from such an immersive position. And open-world would be great fun!
The only thing that worries me about an open-world Mirror's Edge is that it might remove some of the fluidity from the game. The first game only felt as fluid as it did because the developer's allowed the game to predict your next movements.
Ever since I first heard about this, I've been excited for it! Though I am a bit disappointed that the overall creepiness of the original footage has been replaced by a more lighthearted style. But then I'm just being a bit picky here.
DLC packs would be a good addition. So long as characters aren't too expensive. Would be good to have extra stages as DLC too; I think I'd be more inclined to buy extra stages, unless the DLC characters were particularly high on my list of priorities.
From what I've read, people are being quite harsh about this game. It is in no way worse than Goldeneye (although it could be argued that the Challenges mode isn't quite as accessible as Goldeneye Reloaded's Mi6 mode). Sure, the campaign mode is a bit thin, but for a blast through some of Bond's past missions, its a lot of fun. It isn't the best entry in the series, but it's still worth the cost of the game.
The splitscreen is especially fun.
