"For those who has the Wii, does the VCON justify the Wii? Couse I want to buy one just for the retro games since I love the classics..."
I'd be hard-pressed to condone buying yourself a Wii if your primary basis is for retro gaming.
If you're into that kind of stuff, you may want to look into using your PC to run emulators among the likes of MAME (arcade), NESticle (NES), Gens, Project64 (Nintendo 64), PCAE (Atari 2600)...and virtually any other console yo...
"...Ask any professional and you would know that Illustrator and Photoshop run better on macs..."
Your statement may have been quite accurate about ten-plus years ago, but things have changed drastically since then, as PC's and the Windows OS have become exponentially more stable and multimedia-capable over the period.
With the exception of 3D modeling and animation and audio-editing, I learned all the other programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, Premiere...
FACT: I was one of the suckers who bought a launch model Wii with the blind assumption that the console already had motion control equivalent to what the MotionPlus is claiming to offer.
Wasn't I bitterly surprised soon after I first booted up Wii Boxing.
Although I'll likely pick up a MotionPlus attachment if it does actually deliver on it's claim, but I can't help but feeling a little bitter about paying for movement control which should have been there to begin w...
Don't tell me that Punch Out! isn't going to be motion-sensitive???
**crosses fingers in anticipation**
What a fantastic month it's been for my Wii!
Anticipation for a Wii-version of Punch-Out! was one of my reasons for buying a launch Wii. That, and...**cringes while confessing**...Red Steel.
To be honest, I was quite disappointed to find that Wii Boxing wasn't as responsive/accurate I was hoping it to be. Supposedly, I'm hoping that the Motion-Plus add-on will fix that issue with the controller.
Does anyone know if Punch Out will support it? Although...
I'm not sure if things have changed since I left NPD Canada (formerly ISL), but if I correctly recall, video game sales were based upon quantifiable point-of-sale data; alternatively, perishable consumer goods (cheese, ice cream, paper towel, etc.) relied upon a less-scientific panel of long-term end-consumers who would pretty much fill in a monthly survey on their purchases and return them to us (therefore less accurate and more subjective than POS data.)
Overall, NPD reports ge...
Heh, heh...yeah, I suppose we could be cursed with worse problems than having too many good games, eh?
Cheers, and Happy Gaming!
Yeah, I hear you. Although my DS has been sitting in my house doing absolutely nothing almost since buying it a year-and-a-half ago, this is the very first time where I feel justified in owning it. Great game.
By the way, never in my life have I had such a dilemma with rationing my already-limited time across so many platforms at one moment:
DS: Chinatown Wars
PSP: Resistance: Retribution
PS3: Killzone 2 (among many neglected others)
Wii: Madworld...
I highly recommend it for any DS owner who's into this genre, as I think they'll be pleasantly surprised - as I was.
OMG, you're like a nasty case of herpes!
And just about as useful, too.
How is it that you get away with consistently trolling around on the Gamer zone without getting banned by the moderators?
What's your secret, other than gathering sympathy points for being so pitiful and retarded?
You're absolutely right...which is why I did exactly that.
As eager as I am to have my still-sealed copy of RR sitting here beside me, I must add that Chinatown Wars is the very first reason I have had any interest in the DS since picking it up for my wife over a year ago. It's since been collecting dust, and I must say that I'm very pleasantly surprised by the fine-quality of the DS game.
Matter of fact, Nintendo has recently pulled an unexpected one-two punch on m...
Err...but as far as you're concerned, sales expectations "IS" what matters???
Please do elaborate upon your flawless logic to us lesser beings, Oh Enlightened One.
My brother-in-law bought #1 (the Sharp Aquos) specifically for his PS3.
I didn't spend too much time with it, but what I did see has compelled me to pick one up for myself as a second set, or in replacement of my existing 1080i Hitachi projection, in the remote case that it gets struck by a sledgehammer.
Thirty eight times.
Thanks for the reply...I guess the Wii doesn't currently support High-Capacity cards?
Good to know. Bubbles for your kind efforts.
If you're in the Toronto area, you may be interested to know that I picked up a used copy of UT3 for PS3 for $15! This was on February 27th, though...so I don't know if the anticipated Titan pack has created some new demand for the game.
As far as an active community is concerned: I honestly haven't seen anyone on my PS3 friends list playing UT3 for a very long time. But I reckon that may change soon...or I don't have enough friends. ;)
I fired up the PC version ...
I agree.
I love R2. Just an awesome, awesome roller-coaster thrill ride; didn't bother me one bit that it was a linear game. It reminded me of something you'd experience at Universal/MGM Studios...nothing more than over-the-top, blatant fun.
Only gripes I had was the way-too-abrupt ending, and the absence of controllable vehicles/machines.
As for Retribution: I've already pre-ordered.
The point of the game is to simply have fun as wanna-be rock-star, not to learn to play guitar.
You can hold the same argument for driving games, but I reckon there may be some minor hindrances and repercussions, should you rather choose to barrel into a wall at top-speed in your 1995 Volkswagen Jetta. ;)
Oh, for the Wii...darn.
Has Nintendo offered some sort of solution to the Wii's limited storage issue, or do these songs simply get downloaded straight to the SD card???
Last I was aware of, I thought all extra RB/GH material needed to be purchased on disc as a Track-Pack. Did something change with the hardware???
For what it's worth, they're by far my personal-favorite developers.
Keep it up!
"Do your self a favor and download a bunch of emulators and a few roms, in 2 months your PC will start slowing down LOL. Soon your drive will be corrupt, also burn those games on a disk too and keep trying it."
I can't figure out whether you're irrationally paranoid, or trying really, really hard to scare us away from ROMs.
Sorry, but I'm not sold, as I've been running emulators and respective ROMs for at least fifteen years without a hitch...and shall cont...
