Yeah, I thought my problem was my router because it's not uPNP. (it's one of those modem/router combos from my isp, so I have no choice.)
If it makes you feel better, I'm one of those suckers who actually paid for Vista...although only CN$40.

Apparently it was a Vista issue (waht's new).
For those of you in the same boat I was, be sure to pay special attention to the Installation Wizard and be sure that "Disable SSDP" is checked.
Note: You won't be able to use WMP as a server, but...WHO CARES, because you've got TVersity!!!!

Only problem I find is that it doesn't instantly appear on my XMB, unless I hit "restart sharing" on the server side.
Other servers like Azureus and Windows MediaPlayer show up just fine...instantly.

With most of my play-time taking place after midnight in a pitch-black living room, I can't exaggerate how this feature was sorely, desperately prayed for.
I actually got into the habit of turning off my FTA receiver just so the panel would display the clock and allow me to keep a tab on how painful getting up for the fast-approaching, sleep-deprived early morning is going to feel.

IF I had bought a 360 2-1/2 years ago, I'm pretty confident that the LAST thing on my mind would be such aforementioned features, considering that it would be highly likely that a 2-1/2 year old box would've Red-ringed on me long ago.

Some friendly advice:
I suggest you avoid Vista...especially with the emerging news on Windows 7, how much more do you think MS is actually going to support Vista when they're already touting the NEXT OS (typical Microsoft.)
I was stupid enough to buy into the hype, and actually BOUGHT vista Home Premium.
Although not a bad OS in and of itself, it's definitely not worth the hassle, IMO.
