The Wii is in its sixth year now and was able to reach 90 million as of a couple of months ago and, according to analysts, journalists and the numbers themselves, have been deeply declining in sales since last year.
The PS2, on the other hand, reached over 10 million MORE units than that in less time (a year less) and continues to prove us all wrong when we think it'll sell under 500,000 units, but instead does that in a few weeks' time (mid-November into December) an...
She's beautiful!
Very nicely done!
Great recovery from the 3DS! Hopefully Vita will see the same turn-around in that country following more Japanese-popular titles (and perhaps a price drop over there).
awwww yeeaaaahhh!!
While it's obvious that they wouldn't just stop producing PS3s after an announcement and launch of a PS4, I don't think that would be a good idea due to a few reasons, with the main reason being that it would be a total market overflow for them at this point.
You realize that - at the PS4's launch - they'd already have money coming in from the PSP, Vita, PS2 and PS3? And that's just in dedicated gaming hardware.
I personally think they...
AT&T is turning a lot of people off of the 3G version here in the US based on the reactions after their announcement. I was always going for the simple WiFi version, but that's just because I was never a subscription based kind of guy (it's why I don't pay for XBL, Netflix, GameInformer, PS Plus or any of that, as much as I'd want to try them out). I know that I'll have to come around to it in the future, but it's avoidable right now so I'm going without it as ...
I'm pretty sure IGN is the only website left in this world that doesn't shut up about "The Year of the PS3".
Some of the stuff they pull seriously gets me thinking....
I mean, I'm not trying to point them out and say "they give the ps3 such a hard time!!1!!!", but honestly? I have a 360 and even I can say it didn't have an amazing 2011, mainly because the only exclusive I really got for it last year was Gears 3, but what...
Exactly! lol
It was a phone made by Microsoft before the Windows 7 Phone came out that got discontinued after just a few weeks.
How often has a product actually fallen victim to being "doomed" after getting a ton of "doom" articles?
Honestly, check it out:
Barely any Kin articles - actually doomed
Barely any PSPGo articles - actually doomed
And then?
3DS doom articles - not doomed
Kinect doom articles - not doomed
iPad doom articles - not doomed
PS3 doom articles - not doomed
Move doom articl...
A 10,000,000 unit-decline seen from the Wii between 2008 to 2011?
Wow, that's incredibly steep, especially considering something like the PS3 has only been increasing annually since 2008 and the 360 since 2009.
Despite the second week drop (which always happens), the Vita had the second most successful Japanese launch in Sony's history in the gaming industry. It dropped on average with all their other systems.
Fail?? Nahh, son.
To be fair, portable consoles in the past never had two analog sticks to support FPS games, either. The Vita was meant with shooters in mind (clearly, based on the sticks and the western-based lineup).
A COD games would move units if the audience has a reason to go there. Whether that'll be the case is a whole different argument.
3. Twisted Metal: Head On (PSP)
2. WipeOut (PS1)
1. Resistance: Fall of Man (PS3)
I couldn't put Resistance down the night I got my PS3. Golden Abyss might take a top 3 spot, though. We'll have to see this February.
That's a really wild accusation. lol
I began wondering the same thing, but I realized that they probably aren't going to spend the money advertising in the US as early as I first thought. They'll probably just wait until later this month to start throwing out their ad campaign in The States.
Starhawk
Twisted Metal
The Last of Us
The Last Guardian
My four.
Both the Move and Kinect sold over 10 million units globally, so they're both a financial success. But when it comes to the kind of gamers we are, it didn't make much difference. The only way I would consider a motion game or motion gaming a success is if a motion gaming-exclusive title wins Game of the Year or is of the same level of quality as a big game like Uncharted or Skyrim (despite it's bugs).
I will be getting a Move when Sorcery comes out, though. I plan...
I'm pretty sure it's over 155 million units right now or something like that, which would mean that VGC is behind by over 10 million units on the PS2.
Sony announced 153,000,000 back in July.
VG has it at 144,000,000 as of last week.
Oh, come on!! I just gave up fast food a few months ago!!
.... I think I'll just go and make my friends buy that five buck box. haha
