Will be the standard drive in notebooks in 3 years time. High end PC's will have Blu Ray drives end next year, and notebooks will have drives in 2009. Will be great to have that much space on the disks on the go.
There was no reason to not approve of the 51GB specs. Unlike some companies they don't join a group just to play delay tactics. I approve of the safety features in a Ford - but I bought a Toyota. The fact that i approve of something does not mean that I will support it.
Every now and then someone try to pretend Drake is some Lara Croft ripoff.
Time to grow up.
Nintendo will show of the controller. They will show Mario and Zelda with some Sports titles in stores.
Sony will show off R&C and Uncharted, and point to MGS4, GT5 and Killzone 2
MS will state how low tech Nintendo is, how Blu Ray is not a value proposition, and how Sony Home will not work. They will also man Internet Forums with Microsoft Action Response Team to spread FUD. They might also claim that they never saw a XB360 experience 3 red rings.
Kids don't care about the Cell or MS XBox Live. They like the controller. They like the cartoon figure and they like to swing the controller. Get over it. They don't care about brand loyalty or fanboyism. They want to have fun, and the Wii gave it to them on the level that is good enough for them. Good for Nintendo.
Wow - quite a lame attempt...
The motherboards is where you will see the robot arms etc - no way surface mounting can be done in this place...
So - let me take a photo of my home with my kids - maybe they will claim that PS3's gets assembled by kids in houses...
Anyway - what is the PS3 failure rate? Less than 1%?
First the 40% debunked article - then this one...
Buy out existing product, try to enhance it for years, losing Billions in dollars until they can overtake and kill the market leader. Then when they won the market - they don't know how to lead - but will kill of any new entry just by inertia.
The iPod is amazingly "Cool" to have. Got one yesterday for my wife. She likes it. Yes we know the Zune is out there, and some of its features trumps the iPod. But there is a reason why Blackberry is cool to have, and why iPod ...
Until EA gets to grips with the PS3 I will avoid EA titles. Insomniac and Naughty Dog is bringing out great titles. All around there are great titles coming out for the PS3 now - so it is up to EA to raise their game.
AS I said in previous posts - if the game looks and plays good - then it is all good. You will only notice in games like Empire Earth where you really need the screen real estate. Enjoy the games - stop fudging numbers.
I am on my first PS3, and second PS2. OK, yeah, my first PS2 had some laser issues - after four years.
The PS3 in my home gets played a *lot*, and when it is not playing games, it is DVD's, and music. Not a hint of overheating or noise. The people at the games shops over here confirms as well - PS3 second hand games is good sales, because the disks are in perfect condition - and I mean - perfect condition. Got a couple already - Sonic and another game - can't remember which one...
The problem is the GPU overheating. Any game that pushes the GPU is likely to freeze up and cause RRoD. Just get some of the cooling kits - or try and return and get it fixed with the bigger heat sink.
Funny that the guy is trying to link up Halo 3 on this. It is a general problem - and I think MS have addressed it with the total recall 3 year warranty. This suit is going nowhere. If I was the judge I would tell him to go away. He is trying to ride the wave here.
If it was a XB360 game called Sarah, with a girl looking exactly like Lara Croft looking for some treasure - and it would be called a "fresh IP" and innovative.
If it is a PS3 game with new storyline unlike any other - just because there is a jungle scene - it is a Lara Croft rip off. Get rid to the funny reviewers. They made their intention well known to put negative spin on PS3 games by now.
So no more lower entry price = better value proposition - or fake "HD-DVD image is better" crap.
The two formats are just containers for digital files. Chances are that the two files - like your spreadsheet or word processor files - are exactly the same file on both disks. Therefore - the quality should be - exactly the same. At last they seem to get it. Wow!!!
All that is different is that the BR will have better sound (not noticeable by 99.99% of peop...
Only one million HD players out there - but:
20%-30% of PS3 owners watch Blu Ray - that would mean with sales of over 5 million - at least 1 million players out there without counting standalone Blu Ray players. And that is not counting the HD-DVD players sold.
As always - trying to take a swipe at Sony on many points. It is not much o a war heating up - more like BR beating HD-DVD into the ground.
It is a great product with a long life. The Blu-Ray player alone will account for a lot of sales when HD starts getting even and overtaking DVD.
The games are coming on well, and the development technology seems to be getting better all the time. It will win this gen in the long run.
The reason I did not get a PSP yet is because it was not with a phone.
Give me a PSP with phone, GPS and PDA features.
Product that sells close to 30 million. Second product over 5 million already in first year and picking up speed. Wish I had such a failure of a product.
Padre... you make whatever side you are on look bad...
The Microsoft Action Response Team at it again - not realizing how they contradict themselves...
Is it not TheMART that keeps on telling how the RRoD thing is not true, and how he (they) and their 30 friends play their launch consoles 24/7 without RRoD or disk scratching. Yet in a very short time he (they) post a very informative list of directions that should / should not be done in event of sending a XB360 to MS. Now this begs the question... if TheMART is so untouched by al...
Ninja Gaiden Sigma was a good game. My kids liked it a lot. The statement is just PR and sales talk. Chill out. It is like saying Killzone 2 will rip out Killzone's throat. Killzone was a great game. The next version should be better.
They are just creating hype for their next game. It is called marketing.
The shakeup in the games reviewing industry is starting. Guess we will see all kinds of revelations in the coming weeks and months about advertising, pay per review, fanboyism, trashing the opposition etc.
Grab the popcorn and watch this one - it is going to be one to watch...
