Uncharted make other games like COD4 look 2d and bland. The water effects in this game - and they certainly made sure that they show it off with plenty of rivers, puddles small water dams - for the first time the water looks like - water. The distortion of objects in the water, the waves made when you walk through it, or swim - it is so good that you find yourself running around in the water just to admire the effects.
I am only just over 20% now - and according to some walkth...
Got the game on Friday - and so far - I have to agree with the review. It is breathtakingly beautiful. It has a nice story line. But the gameplay is so-so. Not because the cover system sucks, or that the gameplay is flawed. It is just that there don't seem to be enough content. Not the same genre - but R:FOM is much better, and R&C is outstanding.
For me - game of the year - just because of the sheer fun that you have with it is Warhawk - and maybe - Eye of Judgment.
This game has the best graphics that I have seen for any game. The water effects is amazing. The gameplay is OK, but so far (20%) the gameplay is not the sort that gives me replay value yet. The walking on the planks was irritating. No skill involved - but it took too long to get through it eventually. The U-boat scene as well. No skill - just walk a bit - press triangle and turn - for the next cut scene.
This is similar to Lair for me - the gameplay mechanics is great, the gr...
PSP is picking up steam. PS3 holding its own. Wii and DS running wild - low end.
For me - the PS3 and PSP.
And it will not eat up more memory. They reserved enough space for it in the OS footprint. All they most probably still need to do is to ensure that it does not cause slowdown during gameplay - or glitches - like the information bar did when switched on. Simple as that.
It is a tricky thing to program - because you have a service in the background - that must be available - and you don't want it to interfere with another program (the game running) in terms of hardware threads ...
Busted - yet again...
So... The reviewers are for sale. It takes two to dance. The little fat asses with the hand held out for the gifts - otherwise bad review. Close those companies down. They are lying to the consumer. Let the publishers who got a bad deal - but who acted honestly - sue them for loss of income.... Just hope there are still some honest publishers out there...
Downloaded the XB360 version and played it on my Atari 2600, and downloaded the PS3 version and played it on the ZX Spectrum. And I must say, the Wii version when played on the Commodore Vic 20 really owns all of them. Smoother in terms of framerate... the colors are only 16 colors - but so bright I had to put a screen in front of the TV to be able to look at it. The ZX Spectrum colors was really washed out - it just lookt to close to "reality" - you know what I mean dude. And the s...
Best multi player game I ever played. Played COD4 - and after a while the kids asked if we can go back to playing Warhawk.
Would love to see them release single player missions for it though. But in terms of multi player - this game is the best.
Sony did not steal their controller and downgraded it. It is two total different technologies. There was Wii like controllers out for the PS2 even before the Wii was released... so go figure.
Uncharted was released in South Africa yesterday - only a few shop had it - actually - only one of the lot that I visited had it - others are expecting it next week Wednesday.
The graphics in this game is better than anything else. Did any of you also just run around in the water just to see the ripple effects? There is some screen tearing issues - but that is only if you are looking for it - wife and kids did not notice it - but I tend to sometimes look at the top of the scree...
If HD-DVD could perform as well at the sales counter as their hype they would have won this long ago. Everywhere they are trailing in sales...
They are dragging out this war without good reason. Give it up. Let us have one format and get it over with...
The devs only used the PPU in porting this one... Don't even seem to use much on the XB360 either... maybe they were using last gen tools...
This is how they do it...
Some affiliated sites gives it something like 8.5
They quickly add those scores - and selected scores that will keep it under 9
Then they ignore any other high scores... so that it stays under 9
So if you want to find those in on the Keep PS3 scores Low...
Look for the first quick just-under-9-scores that was added to get the score just under 9 without looking too biased...
They seems to first focus on the game engine. R&C had more content. Lair was really good in terms of graphics, gameplay - when the devs allowed you to actually play the game - most of the time they interfered - and caused it to be extremely linear to the point of irritation. HS did similar in many places - but the graphics engine was absolutely great.
Now they need to create more content for the engine that they created. Spend more time on the gameplay content next time. Th...
No Uncharted, R&C, EOJ, Warhawk?
Who cares which console "wins"?
Heck - just give me good games on my console of choice...
I bought the PS3 because I trust Sony products. I did not buy a XB360 because i knew it will be faulty - which it was. I did not buy my PS3 to be part of a war over which one wins. I bought it because I could play my PS2 games, play great new games, watch BR disks on it, and use it as a media center and lastly because I knew it will be reliable.
It is not rendered in full 1080p (1920x1080) - it is rendered in 1280 x 1080 (2xAA)
Forza 2 - 1280x720 (2xAA)
The garage and other scenes is 1920 x 1080 though.
Great to hear that they have damage modeling in... and knowing the attention to detail with PD - it will be quite realistic. Just send me the BR edition - quick!
Uncharted is fresh and new - and has everyone talking.
The game engine is sorted - make a sequel to Uncharted while the momentum is with it. Or even better - make both - start work on both.
Jak will be a winner. Kids loved it - but Uncharted seems to have the momentum at the moment. Whichever one - Naughty Dog seems to have the tech sorted out - just bring on the content.
With every PlayStation release you will have Ridge Racer early on, and then... Gran Turismo. I have GT3 and GT4. Then some other race games. But overall... GT is the one to get. It is polished, the attention to detail, the handling of the cars...
Gran Turismo tends to make all other car games look pedestrian... Sorry about that... but that is just the way the cookie crumbles.
Prologue will whip all the other pretenders out there... Hope they make the BR version a...
From Heavenly Sword
Kai. Sweet little girl, bit disturbed. With her arrows and silly comments - great character that gets under your skin.
From Uncharted - Drake
He swings wildly, do clumsy things. More believable character than a Rambo superhero just piling through enemies with a railgun. Or than Snake. Drake seems to be the everyday guy with a sense of adventure - not a trained special ops uber superhero.
