No... due to the HD-DVD version XB360 Ultimate bing canceled due to the Warner announcement, all MS paid fanboys and viral marketers got called in to report on their failure. They are getting the rap now.
If they released XB360 with HD-DVD, then BR would barely be alive. As it is, HD-DVD was too late to be included, and MS wanted the year headstart more than HD-DVD. That single thing, more than anything else, killed HD-DVD. When the PS3 released with BR, HD-DVD was dead. It was just a matter of time.

At the price of the PS3 - it is a very cheap BR player. And a very good one too.
XB360 owners have a few interesting choices if they want to watch hidef disks. Buy a standalone BR player at the same price as the PS3, and just watch movies. Or they can wait for a BR add on for PC or the XB360 and buy it (add on devices are quite expensive normally - just check the XB360 hd). Or.... they can buy a PS3.

DD is a long way off. It is only viable for a few at this time. The mass market for the next 5 -10 years is still DVD, BR. If they were really serious about DD MS should have included a 500GB disk. Heck - that is only like 20 movies.

So the basic code does not have features that the PS3 can take advantage of. When they add it, then all platforms including the PS3 can take advantage of it. How the optical connection code is going to improve the audio is a bit beyond me. If the audio is poor, then it is poor. Possibly for all platforms as it will be the same basis.

I loved the artistic direction of the game. There is much to like about the game. It does have its issues though. The AI is at times very good, and then, very bad. The game does have a very "organic" feel about it. The characters behave very well, but the soldier AI at times is really really bad.

As I said before... Lair is actually a very very good game... could have made the top ten games of the year... if you were allowed to actually play the game... In the end you were moved around, had the dev / director on your shoulder changing strategy every two minutes - and not allowing you to actually enjoy the game. The gameplay is excellent, the controls is good, the environments is awesome... too bad every two minutes the pop in interfere-as-you-go cut scene and take you out of the game....
Yes - I would like to hold out until the final game... but if the withdrawal symptoms becomes too bad... then I might just pick up the Prologue version... GT owns all driving games... so for die hard fans it is OK.
Modding is bad for software sales. Maybe the after market cooling systems must have external power source. The cooling systems could maybe cause surge or something else bad to the motherboard. Just guessing - but they would not do this just to screw the customer over. I don't like MS - but I don't think they will do this without a reason.

Modeling water is quite difficult. Getting the effects right takes a lot of CPU horsepower. LAIR looked the best until Uncharted was released. GT5:P sucked compared to the final GT4 product. GT5:P is just that - half complete Prologue to the full game. It is a demo of the already stable features in the game - and it already is better than most "full" products out. It already is the best looking driving game.
