I've played the first two and they're mostly good games. The first one is very good with it's semi-open level design and fun set-pieces and of course the death animations that usually catch you completely off guard. The enemies that focus on melee combat to me were some of the highlights and I think it tells a nice a simple story that keeps your attention.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider goes for a more open world and sometimes tries a bit too hard with its story in a...
Didn't make myself clear. What are the sacrifices that need to be made today when the industry is bigger than ever? Watch Dogs was Ubisofts biggest new IP, The Witcher 3 was CDPR's best selling game so why hold back visual settings for the sake of the console version?
If anything it was even riskier back then because the PC market certainly wasn't as big and sales expectations for the two examples I gave you were far lower and yet they pushed further.
"Crysis and Metro were pushed as hard as they were because they were very few sacrifices that needed to be made."
Such as?
Are those games on PC? Not exactly able to push that far visually if they're not and that's not me saying they look bad but that they could go much further if they were on PC. Looks to me like you just wanted to turn this into a fanboy war.
Take a look at The Witcher 3 trailers and then look at the final product. We see what the PC can do so why remove those optional settings? Why make it so your games aren't able to push future hardware to their limit like Crys...
So because it won't become a huge thing it's not worth bothering with? Nice logic. If they can eliminate 90% of the input lag then I'll gladly play through 360 games via streaming. Would free up some HDD space too.
"we already have people not talking too each other because there on the phones all the time?"
It's a travesty...
Yeah I'm betting Switch because it was initially advertised for the that system the most. I think it was on one of the directs right after the Switch launch and people have been looking forward to it ever since.
It's a good game and is more than deserving of the success.
It's a common thing this gen. Learnt early on to expect downgrades from the trailers even for the PC release. Dev's are just too afraid to push visuals like Crysis and Metro 2033 did.
Horizon 4 was the first in the series I've played and loving it. Never had a racer keep me occupied for more than a couple hours til I was bored but this game is just on another level with how much there is to do in it. Makes me love the idea of Horizon 3 joing because I'd love to give it a go
"Ok it goes both ways though if you can’t handle a dev replying back and giving it to you don’t comment. It’s no excuse that because they are game devs they need to be able to take crap like this and not be allowed to speak up."
When you put yourself out there and make a product you have to accept that the product will be criticised along with any business decisions related to it. He obviously can't handle it and decided to stupidly go onto a forum and blackma...
"I would be damned if I spent years working on something that I was passionate about and put thousands of hours into just to hear people crying because of a business move 4a had no control over. "
If you can't handle it you're in the wrong business.
You obviously havent considering you're unaware that in less than a month EGS had controversy regarding their refund policy which was a straight up lie, No user reviews/community section because "muh develupprs feelingz" and games being more expensive in the EU+UK.
People being angry about having to spend more money is petty lol.
@tontontam0
"just let steam continue their monopoly."
What monopoly? There's Steam, EA, Battle.net and Uplay. None of these storefronts have made a deal with a 3rd party to exclusively sell a game on their service. But for some reason you're all defending EGS like it's this saviour who's come to destroy Valves tyrannical grip over the PC market.
Have you heard that EPIC aren't going to allow user reviews? ...
This is a genuine case where you might want to tell an employee to keep their mouth shut. I don't want the guy fired but seriously most businesses wouldn't take an employee agitating potential customers lightly. Especially when bad PR is already going around.
"as a last resort, if at all PC players announce a boycott of the Metro, then the next metro, if it does, is definitely not on the PC. Better from this will be or worse, decide for yourself."
Challenge accepted.
The multiplayer looks abysmal. The SP looks fine.
@foxtrot
"She should be cured of whatever has happened to her in this one and get back with the Chief at the end."
So we create a plot just for it to end in the same place it began with no consequences?
That is the most boring thing that could possibly happen. Cortana as a character has evolved and what your suggesting to me is the problem amateur writers always fall into. They're afraid to have a character evolve and play...
"Start over from part one when the chief escaped the 1st Halo. Do a complete reboot, and bring back the theme music. Also bring Marty back along with some of the original team."
No. Halo 1-3 are classics and are great as they are. If 343 want to add any retcons or little details with something like a Halo 3 anniversary release that's fine but the games themselves are among the greatest FPS titles of all time. A reboot for the events after 4 would be absolutely...
@Gaming4Life1981
I didnt like Halo 5's Campaign at all tbh. Halo 4 set up so much for them to play with and they've completely destroyed the opportunity. The Diadact was killed off in a comic (sorta) and all of a sudden Palmer and Halsey are getting along despite Palmer basically shooting her arm off. What happened to that desire Halsey had for revenge at the end of Halo 4: SO? why is ONI not trying to kill her now? So many questions just ignored for the sake of laz...
It is pretty much GaaS now seeing as any game with post-launch content can be categorised as GaaS.
We had an announcement at one point that the total sales of the first two reboot games were at about 18 million. At that time I think the first in the series was estimated to be at 11 million. So with Rise of the Tomb Raider, we're talking 7 million (could ne 8+ by now).
The exclusivity deal probably hurt sales a bit but then we're debating whether the money MS paid offset that enough which (unfortunately seeing as I despise the business practice) it probably did. G...
