Have Bioware games ever had difficult achievements/trophies? I've know some to be moderately time consuming but never difficult.

Not really. Single player games have always had a market and there's a huge variety to choose from. If you want story focussed games you can find them, and if you want a specific style of gameplay you can find that too.

I think that the "SP games dying out" is easily the biggest fake narrative of this generation. Somehow people have convinced themselves there was some truth to it and then act surprised when a SP game does well.

GoG is their store so in that circumstance I don't blame them but if they want their game to sell they know to release on as many storefronts as possible. Give consumers options and they will choose which deal they like the most.

Yeah the market was a very different one back then. Its not so much to do with the 3DS or Vita being worse systems (because they're both big improvements over their predecessors) but that they existed in a market that favoured them less.

The Vita has been unofficially dead for a long time. Officially it's been on life support for the majority of it's lifespan because it never picked up momentum and Sony saw it as a better investment to move their teams to the PS4. Since then it's only been receiving re-releases and the occasional JRP...

When you dethrone someone you usually stick around and maintain your dominance rather than disappear into obscurity. It's why the Crash remakes were so positively received and whenever we get a good Sonic game its reception tends to also be accompanied with a sigh of relief.
