There is one reason and one reason only why our opinions and outside views matter. If gamers decide today that Sony is full of it and decide not to buy the PS3 Sony is screwed. We don’t have to know or have the experience to run Sony, but if we loose faith in Sony they don’t get our money. The most powerful form of advertisement is word of mouth and if, I loose faith in the PS3 you can bet I will say the same to a friend and that friend will say something to a friend. You get the point anyhow...

NJ1207RSX you are over looking some major factors.
The lack of PS3 consoles due to the overly complex manufacturing process of BLU-RAY (Blue laser diodes). This is the critical flaw in the BLU-RAY technology as a whole. Sure given time they will be over to over come this, however Shareholders, game Developers, and the competition aren’t willing to wait. Each day Sony fails to produce PS3 or BLU-RAY Player, someone becomes a new owner of a HD-DVD Player, Wii or Xbox360. Sony has to fi...

MS have sold more HD-DVD drives then Sony has sold PS3's

Microsoft Never claimed this and this article isn't even about the Xbox360.

Sharp doesn’t use the same patent specifications as Nichia or Sony. The blue-laser diodes they make are slightly larger. As we know BLU-RAY is very touchy technology, and something like that could cause problems. All that speculation but I’m sure if it was a big deal news what have come out saying so.

Bad news for the BLU-RAY CAMP.

Shysun news flash Japan is the 3rd largest market 1st being us 2nd Europe and the xbox360 is doing great there can’t said that for the PS3 though. Microsoft really doesn’t need Japan to be successful.

Not with the Current install base of 1 million and an average attach rate right now being 1. Let's not forget with each game developed on the system and each console sold that adds more to the overall amount Sony has to make up.

Those numbers really don’t seem to add up. If there are 16 games available and it takes on average $8,600,000 to create the game that would put the total production cost of all 16 games at $137,600,000. With Sony’s official statement saying they were going to release 1million consoles total USA and Japan and knowing that Sony looses $399 to $494( http://www.gamespot.com/new... ) just maki...

The way it’s worded it’s a bit misleading but being that this sentence doesn’t account for the games to come, “must sell 500,000 units of every PlayStation 3 game in order to turn a profit.” If they had to sell 500,000 units of every single game that came out they would almost never reach a profit because not every game sells close to that. Therefore they are talking about at current time with the current amount of systems available on the market today. Currently they have 16 games to date av...

Willing to bet they are a shareholder of Sony. It's like the person missed all the other news. How HD-DVD is selling better than BLU-RAY, how both are outdated technology. Oo and let's not forget the bad game reviews. How can the PS3 be living up to the hype right now if we have to wait to see the good stuff? The person I’m sure hasn’t even played any of the games for the PS3.

While you are waiting for games to come out, I will be playing the rather large stack of games I have accumulated for my Xbox360, and buying new ones along with online content as it comes out. I’m not going to wait for Sony to play catch up and copy cat, I’ve got achievements to unlock and friends to meet up with on XBL. When Sony figures it all out and these killer apps come maybe I will look into a PS3. I’m sure they will have had a price drop so I will pick up the console for cheaper and h...

Normally I would say the whole argument over which has better graphics is silly. To point out Sony did put there foot in there mouth for the second console in a row saying how they had superior graphics, and how we would be amazed because till the PS3 there has never been anything as good. The even went as far as to declare the CGI as in game play. The problem I think everyone is having is that none of there claims are true. The PS3 isn’t better than the top of the line PC, and looking at the...

Kill zone2 maybe a very good title. Hopefully with the amount of money that they are putting into this game it’s worth it. As for Halo Killer, NO, they aren’t even the same type of shooters. Kill Zone is more like a tactical (GRAW/COD) style shooter. While this one I’m sure will be better than the first one Halo it’s not. The thing I find so funny is PS3 Fanboys were saying RFOM was a Halo killer, then when the reviews came in it didn’t beat out GOW.

I think Sony people just disagree just to click the button. If you had any common sense or knew anything about return profit you would understand. Chances of everyone picking up a copy of this game that owns the system is slim. Not to say the rather small install base of the platform, due to Sony not being able to produce the amount of consoles it would like. Chances are with those two factors and such a high development cost they might not make back the money. Had this game been on an instal...

What I don’t understand is why the keep comparing the PS2’s launch with the PS3’s launch. One major factor I see in the difference is PS2’s didn’t have any true competition to compete with. Right now the PS3 has the XBOX 360, which has games with better graphics at the moment, the bugs have been worked out for the most part, a bigger library of games, AAA titles and Exclusives, a huge functional online base (XBL), awesome development tools to cut down on development cost, and a much bigger in...

Sorry to here it ate your game. I tried to post and let people know about Sony’s track recorded with optical devices. My first experience was with my Sony Vaio computer, with in the first year I had it I replaced the CD ROM drive 5 times through Sony’s warranty service. I got so tired of calling Sony I just went out and bought a top of the line Sony DVD Drive which went out on me in 3 months instead of a Month :( Only to replace with a generic drive that lasted till I got ride of the computer...
