In a war it’s good to have someone that will blindly follow and take bullets for you. Sony thanks you for blind loyalty and your dedication to spread the propaganda in these dark times. We will be passing around the Kool Aid later please drink up.

I totally agree…We as gamers should care more about the games rather than all this other hype. That’s the point Nintendo was trying to make about the Wii, you don’t need a super computer to make a fantastic game. While I do appreciate all the graphics, honestly much more goes into the making of a good game. I will say this time around Sony has not just been all about what’s good for gamers; but more of marketing for the overall future of the Sony Corporation. That part we can do without… I wo...

I agree in the future we will need to have new technologies to keep up with the increasing data storage requirements. However many would agree BLU-RAY is the wrong technology and at the wrong time. The reason for it being the wrong time for BLU-RAY is because we have several promising technologies that will yield more storage than BLU-RAY:

I don’t think there is anything I should rethink about what I said. I will however make points of everything you said and debate it with fact. Developers on the PS2 complaining about the size of the DVD media… Please feel free to post so we can all see this, which PS2 developers made these complaints that DVD was too small or the games graphics were limited because of lack of DVD-9 limited capacity? Now here’s one of a many that say developers did complain about the limited texture capability...

Compression algorithms are always being changed and new techniques are always coming out that drastically improves on old techniques. Allowing for high textured files to be compressed at much smaller sizes than what was allowed previously. http://www.c10n.info/archiv... (Just showing you technology is changing.) So the claims that they can reduce the size 70% more than what previous technology has allowed, is more than likely a ...

I read the post time after time and I notice that some people are actually making logical points. Such as look at Doom3, Oblivian, and Gears of War how they all fit on a DVD. Hate to say but Doom3 looks better than some of the next generation games on both systems. Then we have articles like the following: http://www.news4gamers.com/... Notice the part where the Nintendo guy says he looked at the games that are comi...

Look Face the fact both DVD-9 and BLU-RAY has its PRO'S and CON'S.

DVD XBOX360 PRO'S:
-Faster Seek Time than (PS3 BLU-RAY) Per 1GB 1min 2sec

DVD XBOX360 CON'S
-Capacity of Media

PS3 BLU-RAY
-Seek time per 1GB 1min 51sec

You pick one and you loose something, what it will come down to is how the developer make the tools they are working with work for them. Look at the PS2 it had limited memory but it had some incre...

It's funny that the Nintendo guys were saying the Xbox360 looked better in games and frame rates were slow on the PS3. Not only that the Sony guy just said yea well Resistance of Man and I would wait to buy a PS3. Xbox360 and Wii this year for sure.

That's Killer, would love to go see it in person. Wish they would do that here, but then again I just may never leave the store.

It's Toshiba's format, that Toshiba created. Microsoft only said they support HD-DVD because of cause and because they don’t agree with Sony’s Over Big-Brother methods to keep people from copying media they purchased.

Perfect example Sony over stepping its boundaries, to recover from loosing sales and late technology adoption:

Jedicurt, I’m going to have to say the Jedi Mind tricks aren’t working with me here. I speak up on this one and say please tell us your setup and what application you are using to copy these movies to Home Server and what format they are copied in. Cause as of Aug 11 2006. No one has made an application to copy BLU-RAY DVD’s. Second I would like to know the video card that you have that supports and is compliant for High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) and offers DVI or HDMI conne...

We have all missed the fact that PS2 is still the dominate gamming system. PS3, Xbox360 and Wii still has to show consumers why we should buy one of the next generation systems instead of the PS2 while at the same time battling each other.

Here are a few hard facts:
1. If the PS3 is going to be more successful and everyone can’t wait to pick one up, WHY is the PS2 still selling so well with 1 month before PS3’s launch?
2. PS2 still has blockbuster games scheduled...

Sony's Music is all under the Sony Entertainment which the game division also falls under Sony Entertainment. This side of the Sony house is responsible for promoting the PS3.

This is good news but let’s face it 1080p won’t be noticed by most of us. The difference between 720p and 1080p are really only noticed as you get bigger TV’s. Very good movie by MS, can wait to see what next they have there sleeves.

It’s nice to say the 360 is doomed. The fact of the mater is this, when this game was announced all the Sony fanboys talked it down saying it sucked and it didn’t’ matter that we had it coming out for the 360. Now that it’s delayed they are saying well looks like the system is doomed. How can the system be doomed if you Sony fanboys thought the game was crap from the start????

The lack of Dev and Test kits can only spell smaller library of games for the PS3.

Sony better pray the PS3 out performs the 360 because come release people are going to be all over benchmarking it to compare to the 360. If the PS3 comes out on bottom, plus with that huge price tag - would mark the end for Sony. You can also bet around Europe release Microsoft will be looking to release Halo3 and give the 360 a nice price cut.

I guess they have to sale to Japan first then us second. Now wondering about the fate of the PS3. Seeing Sony loosing its huge market share.....

The Xbox 360 compatibility is much more than 30%. The library for Xbox games was around 600 total games. Latest news is they have almost 300 games on the backward compatibility list. MS didn't promise full backward compatibility because they didn't want to over promise and under deliver, however they still have invested money in a development team to work on all the various titles out there and get them to work. If Sony can’t get 100% compatibility like they claimed I don’t think it should be...

You’re talking two different dynamics. When PS2 had come out, there was no format war for DVD’s. DVD’s had been out for a while and the library of DVD’s were pretty large. The other thing is that DVD’s were in the price range of your average person. Not only that DVD worked with existing TV’s. The problem with Blu-Ray are:
1. Price of Blu-Ray media (24.99 for each disk 25gb and 40 dollars for 50gb) while DVD is 1 dollar or less per DVD. HD-DVD even thought prices for media aren’t avail...
