three systems. MS couldn't even keep two going at the same time...
I hoped for more but was relatively happy. We'll see what the next two days bring. Is Konami having a conference at E3 or just back in Japan?
what was so great about the MS conference yesterday? Yes, they got Square-Enix to agree to make more money and it was a nice little surprise for everyone who for the last two years has said FFXIII was a joke. Now it's such a great title it's going to kill the PS3 because we have to share it. So, back to my question. What else did MS show?
Gears of War 2 - No surprises. Seen it. Looks good.
Fallout 3 DLC - o.k.
Fable 2 - No surprises. Watched...
The Intellivision version looks better than the 2600 version. The pixels were a little smaller and less square looking on the Intellivision version but I really didn't notice much difference in color seeing as I was playing both on a 13" black and white set. I did try smearing vasoline on the tv to see if that helped or hurt anything but I'm not sure what it accomplished.....
As an old timer I've seen EVERY "generation" of videogames since day 1 and this one is...
I said I missed many good (great) systems. I was hooked on PC games (if you can believe that! EA One on One Basketball Larry Bird v. Julius Erving yes Julius Erving) in the early to mid '80's and literally "missed" a whole generation of consoles. I only got back into console gaming because my friend had a Sega Master System and it reminded me of the fun I had as a kid. If he had had a SNES I probably would have gone with Nintendo.
I still have the Neo Geo, 3DO, Gen...
I'm old(er). 40 to be exact. Wife, 6 kids.
Here are all the consoles (and computers) I have owned in chronological order:

Sega Master System
Sega Genesis & CD
Neo Geo

Sega Saturn
Playstation
Sega Dreamcast

and it's a multi-platform game.........
MGS4 what 25 or 50 GB?
GT5 I'm sure will push 25 or 50GB...
We'll see what R*'s PS3 exclusive will be like.
I got the Wii for my kids and they love it. My kids range in age from 11 down to 1 and it's the 4 year old who plays it the most. I'm not trying to insult anyone but that is where the majority of Wii games fall when it comes down to it, so simple a four year old can play it. I had fun with Wii sports for a few days after Christmas and I haven't touched the thing since then. There is nothing wrong with "casual" gamers flocking to the Wii, I just think more of them should save the...
Blu Ray 2.0 is available on some movies. GoW: COO is out. Uncharted is out. The other games are PS3 exclusives due out in the next 12 months. I didn't mention the PS1 and PS2 libraries. You know they're just like the XBox library, only a little bigger. Oh and I don't pay to play online, I have 1080p HDMI out of the box, wireless internet access and it just won't break.
What's your point anyway? Oh, that's right I can't play Scene It! That's it! I need a 360 Elite with ...
That's why I own a PS3 and a PSP. XBL is great, I'm sure, but do I have to go into all of the things the PS3 and PSP can do separately and together? Skype, GPS (coming soon), Location Free TV etc. I can buy a Blu Ray 2.0 movie and download a copy to my PSP to watch anywhere. I can take my PSP to work, play games on my PS3 25 miles away, listen to music, watch videos or look at pictures that are saved on my computer at home! I won't mention "Home" yet because it's not out. I ca...
I have never been impressed with any Mad Catz products. They will be inexpensive, that's about it.
Personally, I would like to see a company like Logitech make the controllers. They would be more expensive but would last and work properly. Look at the microphone. It weighs more than the damn drum set.
"I have been supporting Activision games since their
debut on the Atari 2600 in the late 1970's. I have
always been a fan of the company's many franchises and
would like to continue to support Activision. But
recent events surrounding the game Rock Band on the
Sony Playstation 3 have made me question my loyalty to
your employer.
Please feel free to correct any misunderstanding that
I may have of this situation. I understa...
Activision is the money grubber. Activision is the publisher of Guitar Hero III. Neversoft is the developer of Guitar Hero 3. Red Octane is the manufacturer of the GH III Les Paul guitar controller.
MTV/EA are the publisher's of Rock Band. Harmonix is the developer of Rock Band. Harmonix is the developer of Guitar Hero I and II for the PS2 (and GH II for the 360).
Activision needs to answer the question of the Xbox 360 versus the PS3 and if they are being co...
The "kids" are getting R&C, Eye of Judgement and Rockband for xmas and I also got them a Wii (5 kids, range from 1 to 11 yrs old) to keep them away from the PS3. Got Mario Galaxy and Zelda for the Wii. Also got them Spiderman 3, Ratatouille and HP: Order of the Phoenix on Blu-Ray. Also, updating the old PSP right now so I can play all of my old PS1 games remotely. Good times, good times...
I guess you can see what camp I'm in. Nice to see PS2, PS3 and PSP sal...
My PSP has been collecting dust for a while now. (My son dropped it and the UMD drive doesn't work anymore). But now I think I will charge it up and have a go at RE and GT1. Great find everyone.
By the way, where are all the Xbots? I think this is the first thread I have read on here about the PS3 where the Xbots haven't made one comment. I'm sure they're plotting something.
for the info my friend. My fingers will do the walking.
Also, I disagree with Sony's neutral stance. If a game company (Harmonix) wants to patch their game (Rock Band) and the patch is approved for distribution on the PSN by Sony where does another publisher (Activision) come into the equation? Activision is obviously threatening Sony in some way, which is completely unacceptable. To Sony I say, release the patch. True gamers will not allow Activision to forget this one.
Integrity. That's what I'm looking for. We need it everywhere in our society and it seems to have been lost. It's much easier now to blame someone else or make fun of someone else's choice or opinion then to say something positive and supportive, let alone factual. I am disappointed in this generation of young people and I'm afraid of the direction their attitudes our taking our culture in general. I hope to teach my kids to have integrity and respect. And to tell the truth.
I have the right to choose what I believe is the best product for my personal tastes. I chose the PS3, I did not make a bad decision for me. I do not call those who chose differently pathetic or tell them to shut up. Also, your exclamation should read "America rules!"
Seriously, dude, do people like you try to write this way or is our educational system really that bad?!
Anyway, Uncharted is a great game. A sequel will be great, maybe 2009. But I think we'll have plenty to keep us busy between now and our next adventure with Naugty Dog (Jak and Daxter?).
... and supporting three systems! I'd say Sony is doing o.k.
