Yes, I pre-ordered from amazon.com. It comes with a pass for the movie and $20 credit at amazon.com. I have four daughters including a curly-haired, red-headed four year old that doesn't give a rat's ass what metacritic has to say. Shame on the industry for cashing in on movies (I truly hope this one is somewhat decent) but playing a game with your kids is always worth it when THEY like the game.
I am NOT an online gamer. Never have been, don't believe I ever will be. Why? Well, it's not a good reason for everyone but, I'm old. I was there for the Big Bang of videogames. We played text adventures for goodness sake. I like playing single player games and, no offense, don't care about chatting, in game, cross game, just don't care. Therefore, with God of War being one of my favorites of all time, I was afraid this was going to happen. If the single player is ...
I'd like a way to call your horse. Someone tell me in 118 hours I've missed a way to call your damn horse when it wonders off.
I can't get into Amalur. I just think I haven't given it enough time. I like vikings, LOTR, Game of Thrones, etc., etc. Skyrim fits that model very, very well and yes, it is just a matter of personal taste. Hopefully the Game of Thrones game will be more than just a cash grab. The demo of Dragon's Dogma has me interested though.
First, I didn't read this article yet. I'll give the author the benefit of the doubt and assume he made an intelligent statement or two. That being said, Skyrim is imperfect perfection. It does so many things so well the imperfections just become part of the world. There have been very few games I have played where I just want to keep going back. And the amazing thing is for all the time I have invested into the world it just keeps giving more and more! I don't know if I will...
I've been trying to figure this out too, what makes the most sense.
**Spoilers to follow for those few who don't know what happens**
Remember who is to blame for ALL of Kratos' problems. A certain goddess who set this whole thing up to begin with. I like the time travel aspect. Will Kratos, now knowing the whole truth at the end of III find a way to again travel back to the time when his brother was taken and try to stop Athena. Or does it fol...
I was on the fence with this once ever since I saw the first videos last year. Downloaded and played the demo and immediately went online and preordered it. It's just so over-the-top. Can't wait to play it.
I was watching the VGA's with my son and my wife (who doesn't like video games, except anything made by Zynga (aka evil)) happened to be watching when the Last of Us trailer came on. I politely, but forcefully, silenced the crowd ("I've been waiting all week to see this so please shut up!") and as soon as Ellie's face hit the screen my wife exclaims "What is this, Juno!"
End of story.
Based on the clue from UC3 this obviously happens in Drake's world in the near to mid-term future. Was UC3 the last we'll see of Drake? Is the girl his daughter? Will Drake be in this game?
Thanks ND for getting me excited about 2012. I'd laugh, but wouldn't doubt, if the game is released on 12/21/2012...
My apologies if this has been mentioned already.
If you look closely at the third image (newspaper), you will see there is an image of a man in the newspaper vending machine. You can see his one blue eye and he appears to be wearing some sort of uniform. The eye can be seen above the word "in" in "Made In America". The insignia on his uniform can be seen to the right of the handle.
Feel free to tell me I'm nuts. Or, if someone ...
After a long, hard day of questing I usually come back to my home in Whiterun, take off all of my armor and sit in the chair in the living room in front of the open hearth fire. Then I ask Lydia to stir the food. That's when I turn to my real wife and say "See, this is the life", after which I promptly get something thrown at me, maybe, deservedly so...
I will never let my Lydia die!
I've lost a dog and a horse, both of whom bravely defended me until the bitter end.
My only wish is that I could ask Lydia to...to, remove the freaking ice shard sticking in my right eye and out the back of my head!!! It's getting really annoying now!!!
I have the PS3 version and have had the following experience:
I have a 500GB(60GB launch) Fat PS3 and a 120GB Slim. I started the game on the Slim and played up to about level 5, 4 MB save file. Then I moved the game over to the Fat and instantly had lag issues, etc. that made the game very annoying to play, to say the least. I got to about level 11 and a 6MB save size and moved back to the Slim. I turned off all of the autosave features and have not had any lag issues....
Why? I have a great relationship with Lydia...
The enemies in Dark Souls are faster and more aggressive. It is much more difficult to lure out only one or two enemies. You are constantly dealing with three or four at a time. They flank you and attack your back. Definitely more challenging then Demon's Souls.
Could it win GOTY in the year of the game? Any title that pulls it out this year will truly be something special. My early vote does go to Dark Souls though. It is truly different and epic.
"touch the demon inside of me"
I have been getting a kick out of all the BF3 articles and everyone whining about whose graphics are better, etc., etc. when I just can't wait until next Tuesday and Dark Souls! To each his own, and no offense to FPS fans, but this game, Dark Souls, just offers so much more to do and explore. I hope everyone enjoys BF3 and MW but I'll be playing Dark Souls (and continuing to play Demon's Souls) for years and years to come.
Sorry, but Dark Souls is a PS3 exclusive in Japan...
I'm not saying this ad will not run during the Super Bowl but it says Feb 1, 2013 at the end of the teaser. The Super Bowl is Feb 3. What am I missing?
