When I was in my twenties I probably would have passed on a game like this or gotten bored with it quickly. But being in my forties now and being the father of six great kids this "game" takes on a whole different meaning. I will be angry when I "play" Heavy Rain. I will cry when I "play" Heavy Rain. If you have children you know. When you have children you will know. Things change. The more you have lived the more you will appreciate this experience.

...will Sony be "nice" and let Bayonetta and Darksiders have their day tomorrow or will they drop the hammer big time and release new gameplay video of Kratos to make people forget those games before they even open the packaging?

@Two-Face: Though I am disappointed about the PS3 port I'm staying away from Bayonetta because of the style. Not a big fan of DMC-like games...The only games...
What is scary is 2010 is looking to be more one-sided. Things can change obviously but out of the gate PS3 already has more exclusives lined up. We'll see if motion control becomes a big deal (I'm not betting on it). What I think will be really interesting though is 3D gaming and whether or not Sony can make it a big selling point for the PS3 and HDTV in general....oh, and what Sony does with their "premium" online service.....
For 2009 I would put the Sony exclusives in this order:
1. Demon's Souls (there is NOTHING else like it)
2. Killzone 2 (because it was Guerilla's first PS3 game)
3. Uncharted 2
4. InFamous
5. R&C: A Crack in Time

I currently own 55 PS3 disc-based games, 30 Blu-ray movies and about 75% of PSN games. Recently I went through the list of all PS3 games released so far in NA and I have owned 95 (I trade occasionally). After the holidays I plan on keeping 25 and trading or selling 30 to make room for the 2010 onslaught.

though Bayonetta and Dante's Inferno are good (and I will be getting both) they simply do not compare to the GOWIII demo...at all. Bayonetta is, like most people have been saying, much more comparable to the Devil May Cry franchise. Dante's Inferno is a complete GOW clone. But I'll give it a shot.
The game that really interests me though is Darksiders. I really look forward to getting that one. Here's my list of must have games in early 2010:

Not here to slam MS (too much) but Natal ~ PS2 Eyetoy. It's not really innovative at this point in time. MS is not so much a copy cat company, they're an acquisition company. It all started with DOS. Not their's. Bought the rights, changed it to MS-DOS and the rest is history. Windows, now that was copy cat (Mac OS). All companies do similar things, MS is just really, really good at it.
Sony should just go back to leading and stop following. Blu-ray is leading. Cell is...

if you buy GOW I and GOW II "new" (you know PS2 classics) they retail for $19.99 each. So you get both games for the same price you would pay for them "new" on one disc, upgraded to 720p and with a demo of GOW3 (I'm assuming, I have no inside info). I don't know why Sony is ripping anyone off. I have both games and will probably pick this up too. But it's really for those who are just getting into Sony games, first time buyers, who have never experienced GOW. It's all...
All I have to say is the Scarecrow sequences are freaky! Extremely well done.
I don't know about GOTY. Not taking anything away from any game, released yet or not, I can't help but think it is going to be hard to beat Uncharted 2. Uncharted is still my favorite game this generation. Arkham Asylum is, though, the best superhero game of all time and at least deserves an honorable mention at the end of the year.

If you follow GTPlanet at all you will know of the predictions made by one of the, how do I say this, "very well informed" members there. I give Play no credit for this date but if it is released this year it most likely wil be in that timeframe. My prediction is a ship/street date of December 1, 2009.
I read N4G everyday but rarely find a topic I feel I need to respond to. This is one of those topics though.
Look MS and Turn 10 have done a good job with Forza. I have never played a Forza game and I am not here to compare Forza to GT. I am a Sony supporter but I respect other systems and their respective fanbase. I have played Codemasters, SinBin, Papyrus, etc. racing games and respect many of their titles. But, there is not one single driving game franchise or developer...

according to IGN it appears this is not a Kojima produced game. Still, good for MS fans. We'll see what Kojima is actually working on later.
