I've been playing video games since 1976. Started with Pong. That's a slightly repetitive game. A dot bouncing between two lines. Loved Pong.

(Insert hundreds of games here that I have played and forgotten about that you may not even know existed)

To something more recent:

Zombie mode in CoD. Repetitive. Pointless. Still fun.

There's a long list of repetition in gaming. I will not be banned for lik...

Not defending HG or denying anything on the list. I have played for well over 20 hours and I do agree there are things missing or, at least, appear to be missing.

Here's two things on the list I can speak about:

1. Space battles. All I can say is that sometimes when you enter a star system you will see a "Distress Signal". Its an exclamation point in an orange circle and it will be in space somewhere near a planet. Go to it and you will...

I've lost track of how many hours I've put in so far. I have not touched another game since NMS launched. I was finally getting a little tired of it yesterday and I was going to call it quits once I visited one more planet. I land on the planet and find a Monolith and go learn a few words. There is a cave nearby so I decide to go have a look. I will occasionally find a rare pearl or something but, typically, I just visit caves to get out of a storm or get some plutonium. I walk ...

I agree. Plus, I don't want anyone coming and messing with my sh!t. I found it, now go away.

Believe it or not I have had a little bit of FOMO with this game. It sounds totally ridiculous but I want to be the one who discovers everything in my little sector of the galaxy.

I've gone to a total of 2 start systems (including the one I started in), discovered 8 planets and 1 moon, hundreds of species of flora and fauna, finally fed an animal, met 10 aliens from 2 different species, talked to many NPC pilots in 2 different space stations, know over 30 words of Korvax, been in an ocean and caves, been attacked by animals, sentinels and pirates and taken dozens of photos of everywhere I have been. That's my first 8 hours. I am very proud of the fact that I ...

Let me change the wording a little. I believe NMS will become "one of the more influential games of this generation".

Gaming started for me in 1976 when I was 8 playing pong with my dad on a Telstar console hooked up to an old, beat up black and white tv made in the 50s. I was hooked. In those same years I developed a passion for astronomy and was in awe the more I learned about our solar system, our galaxy and the whole of the universe. Tomorrow, after work, I will sit down and put No Man's Sky into my PS4. I will gather my six children around me and we will discover a new universe together.

This is a game that will never get consistent scores across the board. I'm sure we'll see everything from 2's to 10's. It is certainly not a game for everyone. Plus, there seems to be a huge group of people who expect it to be the game that they envision in their heads opposed to what Hello Games has consistently presented to the public for 2+ years. If you go into this expecting more than you have been shown than you will be disappointed no matter if the core game is good...

And that's what people aren't talking about. I'm sure a great many people will try and rush to the center of the universe (or galaxy, sorry) and some may get bored on the way but I'm sure it will be very easy to spend 30+ hours on a single planet trying to find new stuff. What lies at the bottom of the ocean? What is over that mountain range? What's in that cave? Why, it's Techno Viking! (see post below for explanation of random Techno Viking reference)
Y...

Cant wait. One of my goals is to find a nice, habitable planet and settle down. Some people may race towards the center of the universe but I just want a planet of my own that I can explore from pole to pole. Maybe find a nice cave to live in. A cave no one else in the entire world (the real world that is) will ever find. Ah, solitude.

I have paid attention to everything Hello Games and Sony have said about this game. I can't wait! Anything other than what has been shown already will just be gravy. I have multiple PS users in my home and I can't wait to visit the planets they have discovered and named. I don't care if I ever reach the center of the universe. I am just planning on having fun discovering new stuff. My only wish is that they can one day make it work in VR.

I have both games. I originally skipped Battleborn and got Overwatch. Overwatch is a great game. I picked up Battleborn, at a greatly reduced price, a few weeks after Overwatch came out. I now play Battleborn much more than I play Overwatch. It is a completely different type of game than Overwatch. It has much more depth than Overwatch and it has a great cast of characters. It also has a 8-10 hour story mode that can be played solo or coop. The two games can certainly share the same s...

God of War and Spiderman will work on my ancient PS4 and I will be able to play all of the upcoming Xbox One games on my PC. So, I'm happy.

Unfortunately, it's a zombie game. I think that is the biggest reason. I feel as though we have reached a threshold with all things zombie related. Don't get me wrong, it looks good. It would have been a show stopper a few years ago.

@ShadowKnight
After reading the new info this is what I think:
I do not think the boy is Kratos' biological child. The way he refers to the boy's mother in the beginning sounds like Kratos doesn't even know her. I believe the boy is a young Thor. Thor was the son of Odin and his mother was a giantess named Jord. Jord was the personification of earth. I think Odin believes his son is too "soft" to one day rule or, even more importantly, fulfill his ...

Me too. When the early access was released in March I didn't like it very much. It seemed too slow and plodding. It still definitely has a slower pace but I just got the Essentials Edition and I am really into it now. Great cast of characters. It definitely needs tweaks. And a couple of different maps. The current map is awesome but just too big sometimes.

My explanation for the return of Kratos. **(Be warned, if you haven't played GoW 3 there are spoilers ahead)**

So, at the end of GoW 3 Kratos "dies" but his body disappears and we are left wondering what happens to him. My theory is that Odin is watching these events unfold and thinks that Kratos deserves a place in Valhalla because he is a great warrior and Odin needs all the best warriors he can get to fight with him at Ragnarok. So he sends the Valkyrie to b...
