Is there any way to change the controls for 2p in prologue? This seems to be a very basic feature and yet I couldn't find it anywhere :( My friends all seem to want to use L2/R2 to accelerate/break. But they should seriously have fixed the penalty system :/
poos3 could either be
1) A moron (most likely)
2) Very insecure about his console choice
3) Actually a ps3 fanboy but takes pleasure in writing ludicrously impossible statements about ps3 games
Considering lots of people don't have 1080p televisions, and most people can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p (okay with games it's slightly different than with films and you can see the difference more but still) I would prefer more detailed graphics over either 1080p or 60fps any day. If the textures look like $hit at a low res, making it higher res will probably make them look worse.
I don't know why this game hasn't had so much hype - maybe it's because not everyone is interested in it? With MGS4, you can say "omg there's a new mgs coming out and it's amaaazing", and need say no more. With LBP if you try to describe it, "it's a 2d platformer where you can build stuff", it sounds quite lame and you need to show them a gameplay video.
Let's hope it can make its September release date.
I'm surprised to see the PS3 outselling the 360 in the UK; I thought the 360 just had a price cut? And the UK has generally been pro-360 until now.. hmm.. though saying that a lot more of my friends have got PS3s recently.

I totally agree that sony's been hypocritical about the whole issue. I don't know why they've decided to drop BC from the 40gb model, it makes no sense (especially considering that the components themselves only cost a minimal amount). I know people who don't care about BC for their existing library, but don't own a PS2 and won't buy a PS3 because they want to be able to play PS2 games on it (and let's face it, there are a lot of good ones out there). I'm glad I've go...
I think the game will be mostly finished by now.
BUT it will be very buggy; reason being that they are doing content creation and using that block system to do boolean operations on objects. This will be buggy for 2 reasons:
1) These kinds of algorithms are VERY difficult to get stable. Even in some professional apps they don't work all the time. Related to rounding errors in floating point arithmetic.
2) You are able to create arbitarily complex objects. We al...
Yup I'm beginning to think that too. If home was a service that came _with_ the PS3, then it might be something to brag about, but here we are, 6 (or is it 7?) months after it was supposed to be released, and we are still not even at the open beta stage. I would be very surprised if we see the full realease of home before Q4 this year. And let's face it: most people aren't going to be _too_ interested in a beta, after all, it's buggy and not feature complete. What's more, they've only just st...
It just means that games like Killzone 2 will be compared to it. I would imagine that at this point they're so far in development that they won't be able to change basic things about the gameplay to help it better games like COD4. Even if they were really ambitious with what they wanted to achieve early on, it might still not have been as much as what COD4 offers.
BTW I just got COD4 for my laptop for my b-day and I love it :D Veteran single-player mode is as hard as f*ck though ...
8 was awesome, but I thought that the GFs were FAR too powerful (in that, using your normal weapon was useless compared with summoning a GF), and there were no treasure chests! That doesn't sound like a big deal until you realise that there's not much to do in many areas; in some of the other games you would re-visit an area just to find a special key item or a new weapon. 8 had a weird system of "upgrading" weapons which you needed to go and grind lots of monsters until you got the...
Yeah games don't look like their screenshots _all_ the time, they've just arranged the shots, picked the best ones and done a bit of post processing. But we know that the level of graphical detail will be about the same.
FF9 was my favourite! It was classic fantasy, set apart from the others because most of them are set in the future with guns and stuff. Though it was the first one I played so that probably biases it a bit.
Doesn't matter. It's an advert for the GAME, not the console. It's mostly aimed at people who already have a console. Most people know that it's on PS3 as well, what's more, if they wanted to go out and buy a console for it the first thing they'd see is a PS3 bundled with it.
At least crash team racing had glitches (like jumping over certain walls that you aren't supposed to jump over) but they required great skill and you still needed to race well the rest of the time to get a good time. But it happens in most racing games, the engines need to be _very_ robust to stop this sort of thing happening.
You can still make whatever content you like, just don't upload it. Or upload it into an "adults only" section.
WOW
And I know that the thing I am looking forward to most is NOT the graphics in this game. I'm wondering what kind of cool weapons and gameplay innovations they're going to throw into this game. Groovitron for resistance 2? Make those chimera dance. DANCE. lol
I can't even stream lo-res videos without leaving them to download about half of the content first. And of course if I did leave something to download I then couldn't play online all the time something was downloading. I DO buy games off steam, but then that's mainly because they cost half the price because it charges in dollars :D. It takes usually a couple of days to download a game (eg San Andreas took me 3 days on and off). A major improvement in speeds is needed before I download most of...
Yeah I'm not reading any more previews, I've seen enough and I DON'T want it spoiled for me D: I'll read the review scores, see if it's as amazing as these make it out to be (which I don't doubt), and then put in my pre-order.
Um... OK it looks like a wiimote, except with no nunchuck type thing so it's actually inferior? This is more gimmicky than the PSEye addon (but at least you can use that for voice AND video chat). In my estimation, microsoft have sort of missed the boat with this one (if that MSpaint drawing was real LOL); if people want to play wii games, then they'll buy a wii NOT a 360, an addon, and one of the very limited selection of games available (look at PSEye again, there are some good games but no...
They were saying before about something called a "rocket test" where they get everyone in one room to fire a rocket at the same time and make sure the framerate doesn't stutter. That's why it never did in R1 ;)
