Look everyone, this is why they only released the demo to qore subscribers. If they released it to everyone it wouldn't fairly represent the final product and they could even end up selling fewer copies. It's not a demo of the final game, it's a preview and a taster for those who subscribe to qore. I'm sure there'll be a proper demo for everyone next month.
That's good to hear - I hope in 5-10 years we can be at the almost lifelike stage. From what I see in this game, it's going to be a while yet, but it's good to see they're trying :)
I think it's bad for console gaming. I can see a future where all consoles are, are PCs with varying specifications and makes, just with copyright protection and proprietry formats, and lack of access to the internal settings of the machine.
We're starting to see this with diferent SKUs for consoles, and now with most games being multiplatform they are being developed with lots of different hardware in mind. Not much different from developing for PC. Games now have installs, patc...
Yeah it's so cheap! Everyone was expecting it to be around warhawk's price and we all thought it was going to have a blu-ray release as well. Also it seems that it's got plenty of play time in it, and with the split-screen and online modes it should provide weeks' worth of fun :)
Many games get delayed because there are problems with development, they underestimate deadlines, and so the final product is often a buggy, underwhelming mess. This game looks like it has taken the time it has been delayed to pack it with features, and really polish the game to the highest standard. I'm really anticipating its release.
So the zone mode wasn't altered that much? That's good to hear. The comparison we saw before was between one of the earlier zone levels and one of the later ones. It seems to be much easier to get the gold than I remember in wipeout fusion, I suppose I'm not the one playing though :)
I think they did this game a disservice by comparing it to actual boxing footage. It makes the animations and hit reactions that they seem to be so proud of look robotic and unnatural, when actually they are pretty good (for a game). I think that in games, unless there is a significant change in the way they are played and controlled (heavy rain is moving in sort of the right direction), will always look this way. When you press the jab button or whatever your character will always do exactly...
If GT5 ever comes out. I think it's stuck with GT on the PSP. I.e. not going to come out for a looong time. By the time GT5 comes out, we will have already seen GT5 Prologue and many other games between now and then (we've probably got 2 years, let's be honest) could trump it graphically. It's just going to be prologue with more tracks and cars, and damage (hopefully). But it's so far away that I can see it being outclassed by games released in-between (forza 3 anyone?)
I am simply appauled at the level of DRM on this game. Same with mass effect. I simply refuse to buy any game that might not let me install and play it in a few years. And I _do_ go back and play old games, sometimes. I even got the original command & conquer running under XP. (Yeah it's awesome :)
I like steam, I can buy games in dollars and get them half the price they cost in UK.
Yeah they were mostly minor complaints, but the rubber-banding AI WAS a big problem for me; it didn't matter how well I did in the first 2 laps because if I did well in the 3rd lap I won, if I did badly I didn't. So they were basically just a waste of time.
You could unlock more 'vehicles' but in reality these were the exact same vehicles (same handling, same speed, same acceleration, same brakes, same boost), but just looked different (different skins).
Of course yo...
It's a MAGAZINE. Magazines have had demo disks since the dawn of time. Why is a digital magazine any different? Heck, I don't even have the _option_ of buying Qore. Plus, you don't just pay for the demo. You pay for all the content of the mag which includes early demos as well as beta invites.
By the way, have they fixed the issues that I had with the first game? I know that they've added splitscreen (which is great!), and they've now got more tracks, but have they changed
-Rubber-banding AI (Your first 2 laps didn't matter, since you can always catch up if you are behind because the opponents slow down for you. Also, it's impossible to build up a lead because your opponents speed up to catch you)
-Lack of an arcade mode/time trial (to begin with)
-Nothing ...
I agree, but I'd put it like this:
The PS3 is seen as superior to the 360 because it is more expensive.
We all know it's got superior technical specs (even if most devs don't take advantage of that), it plays blu-ray and has features out of the box that the arcade (and even the elite) doesn't have. But now consumers will see a PS3 as a long-term investment, and a 360 as an impulse buy that they will only buy 1 or 2 games for. I mean, if you can't afford a PS3, you ca...
16 tracks? I thought it had 8 (albeit with reverse versions)
It's always nice to see them supporting this game with free stuff months after it came out.
MGS4 is a great game, but in my opinion it was spoilt somewhat by
-Installs between each act. I wouldn't have minded a single 3 hour install - so long as I don't have to install each time I play the game after my brother's had a go.
-MGO was not run off PSN - you can't play against people in your friends list, you can't message people you meet in MGO without using the MGO syste...
But in MGS it's all about breaking the 4th wall. It's where most of the humour comes from
Raiden! Turn off the game console right now!
lmao
So is the only reason it failed the tests because of the zone mode? Because I know in zone mode some of the textures act like a music visualiser - in the final build many (if not all) of these were missing/toned down. Anyway to me it seems ridiculous - if you have severe epilepsy you shouldn't be playing games, especially not blisteringly fast ones.
Did you read the article? Sigh...
Look, I'm probably not going to buy left 4 dead, doesn't look that great to me, but if I did, I'd buy it for my laptop. I don't own a 360. That basically means it's not exclusive. And I'm sure red alert 3 is coming to PC, and will be better on PC I mean it's an RTS you've got to have keyboard and mouse. Not to mention PC's superior graphics.
DLC does matter, but it depends on what it is. GTA4 DLC looks like it could be something quite special, but we really don't know at this sta...
