That shot you just posted was one of the characters. Which I said look quite detailed, and they do. You can't say that the BACKDROP in this picture is great. Look at the texture resolution of the sky, ugh!

But as I said, I can't wait to see how it PLAYS, because gameplay and story are the 2 most important things in an RPG. ...
Graphics aren't amazing, characters look quite detailed but for some reason the backdrops are very poor quality. Can't wait to see how it plays :)
SuperSaiyan creds for the edit :P
I don't capitalize my name so I'm not confused with a God :P
Nice mix. Some tough to get, some easy, all require using all aspects (play/create/share trophies demonstrate this). And there's no trophy for hosting a ranked server which you can't do because your connection isn't good enough! Hurrah!
They're rushing it out for the holidays. We haven't really seen anything so far, I kind of expected it to release in 09. I can see it having many bugs and issues.
Of course, it could be that they've just downplayed the hype (compared to assassin's creed) and not shown much of the game hoping it will come out and surprise everybody. You never know.
No way will R2 be GOTY. MGS4 or LBP will be IMHO. If something like GTA4 gets GOTY, when everyone pretty much agrees it wasn't as good as the reviews stated, I'll lose faith in the credibility of these awards.
who can't see any difference between fighting games now and fighting games back-in-the-day? There might be more/different characters, with different moves, as well as cosmetic changes, but the gameplay is the same as it was. I find sports games the same. In fact in sports games it is even worse becuase you can't exactly change the rules of the sport you're representing.
This tekken just seems to add a stupid "rage" mode where if you have low health it's easier to hurt t...
In the arcade it is running on PS3-based units. So if it came to 360 it would be a port.
They're there. Just switch back to F@H by holding the square button. I think all the F@H features are there, just rearranged/tucked away.
I think this is a nice feature, a nice addon to folding@home, but I don't see why people were complaining about delays and really anticipating its release. It's a 3D earth with some news/weather feeds. You can get that already on the internet. That's all it is. Nothing worth getting too excited about.
I thought the beta was to test out the online features, not the story mode?
Most people here agree that the wii sucks, has no games, and is a console based upon a gimmick. If the PS3 had launched with the PSEye as the major control input and a game like wii sports, maybe eyepet, it would have taken a large chunk of that demographic. It's not really about the hardcore gamer, even most of the casual games on that console aren't any good. There have been alternate control input schemes like lightguns, motion sensors, cameras, microphones for a while, and just because th...
Yeah but I can't help but feel that the damage will have to be only half done. The thing about running into a tape and stopping dead? They aren't going to go into all the tracks and allow you to crash through that tape, they will add damage so that when you crash headlong into a tape held up by poles the front of your car will appear smashed up. By hitting what is effectively an invisible wall. If I drive really fast down a straight, then instead of taking the corner nicely I swerve, my car w...
Yes the friends list has increased by double. What I meant, is that some games don't realise. I don't have 50 friends :( but I hear that e.g. warhawk will only show 50 friends in its list, rather than the full 100.
But the full game will be just like the prologue. We've already seen prologue's graphics, that's what it will be. We've already seen prologue's 16 player races, that's what it'll be. I even think that the online system they use for GT5 will be the same. It seems to me they have no intention of creating a server lobby and the ability to create your own games. Nor does it seem they will have dedicated servers.
The physics engine in prologue, whilst accurate whilst driving round the...
Yup and a beta's all we'll see this year. I would like anyone who disagrees to point me to a source where they explicitly state that we will see the FULL, NON-BETA version of home this year. All I have seen is them saying "home is coming this year" or "you'll get your hands on home this year". That could quite happily be referring to the open beta.
Sony have taken home in the wrong direction. WHAT are they doing? They keep just redesigning the home square. They add things like bubble machines and video screens showing short clips of trailers for games that we can see online anyway. That is NOT what they should be concentrating on. The whole home "project" was not thought through at the beginning. Someone said, "How about a virtual world where you can meet fellow gamers?" and everyone kind of went along with it, creat...
MS has got angry about them downplaying their console and its limitations. So now they're trying a big U-turn right after they said THEMSELVES that DVD has held the game back. They have made decisions to re-do the structure and content of the game based upon the fact there are only 2 DVDs. So the PS3 version will be different, likely shorter, than it would have been had the 360 not been involved. The 360 version itself will likely have downgraded textures and sounds to fit the data onto the d...
Cyberlore were working on a 3D sequel to Majesty until their company decided to abandon it in favour of doing business consultancy using business "games" or suchlike. Something useless. They are now known as "blueline simulations"
http://bluelinesims.com/
Great to see a Majesty sequel is in the works at last. And a diablo sequel. *good memories coming back* :)
I agree that the graphics are looking incredible. But to say they are looking incredible "even on that youtube trailer" is far off. If you decrease the quality and resolution of a video, it makes it look better, not worse, because you can trick yourself into imagining what it would look like on a big screen. If the texture resolutions were low, if the anti-aliasing was disabled, if the characters and environments were low-poly you wouldn't notice on a youtube video. Pretty much ever...
