Now it's up to the Coalition to see if they are still the kings of the unreal engine. The one part where Senua is sprinting through the lava filled terrain gave me a glimpse of what gears 6 could look like.

If your game is good, I'll find it on gamepass. I often buy the smaller games that I discover, which I would have otherwise missed. I buy more games because of gamepass, not the other way around. I have stopped purchasing full price MS 1st party games though.
Or just people enjoy the occasional narrative experience as a break from their standard gaming experience. 8/10 seems like an accurate score based on my experience. I think I'm close to completing it.
What's the steam user rating now? We seem to be using that as the guage for success these days.
The upside to a gaas is that you can jump back into it every year and see what’s new. The devs sound passionate about it and its future. I can imagine this game almost feeling like a new game in 3-4 years.

Not yet, but they can grow. Sounds like that's the plan. They have a new CEO this week as well. I can see they pushing helldivers 2 to other consoles, Mac and even high end mobile devices. The game could become a global force and sony can rack up their MAUs.
I know and it totally deserves the crap 81 metacritic score. Ew, just having to type 81, makes me feel so much shame.
Objectively, there is no such thing as a perfect game. Reviews are BS half the time across the board. The game is an 8/10 for me.
I actually heard the game took 20 years to make so it's more like 30 minutes of gameplay per year.
My predictions for the June showcase: South of Midnight, Everwild, Gears 6, Gears Collection, Avowed, Perfect Dark, Project Mara, Towerborne, Starfield: Shattered Space DLC, Doom, Fable, State of Decay 3, Kilin, 1-2 titles that we didn't see coming. They might also announce the digital series x, the new controller/elite S3, and the new handheld if those rumors are true. Afterwards at the COD showcase, they will probably announce that all of the COD games are now included within Gamepass....
I can see MS announcing the specs of the next gen xbox, right before the release of the ps5 pro, just like they did with the one x. . Imagine how good GTA 6 will look on the next gen xbox.
I think the handheld is the second part of their mobile initiative. The first being their new store. MS will always want their own endpoint in gaming. That's where the 2026 console continues that trend.
I think they are going to drop a handheld next year and a next gen console the year after. I think it'll be one sku though at launch

Curious how long a game like this would take to port? It used to take 12-18 months, but I'm wondering if it takes less time now that the systems are both x86. Anyone know?
Yeah, this kind of game is perfect for gamepass. It's 8 hours, so you can easily knock it out over the weekend. I guess if you REALLY loved the first one, you can always buy it with a discount if you have a gamepass sub. Also, I believe this is a trilogy, so they may end up making a 3 game collectors edition once it's complete.
Here's hoping for a drop of all 19 of the other cod games on gamepass. That would be a wild trip down memory lane.
