This is from someone who believes halo is the best game ever made – that alone should disqualify you from passing comments on games.
Try to play the single player or coop in UC2 without using your brain, and you wil suffer. Unfortunately, some people in online coop do try that and it usually ends in round 4. When all three players work together as a team, its a blast to play.
With all the content in GT5, you will be playing the game for 7-8 years anyway, and it will still look and play better than every other racing game released in that period. I can see the headlines - "Forza 8, the ultimate driving simulator, just not half as good as GT5."
Besides, with the engine being ready, its more likley to be just 2-3 years now for the next game.
Who is the developer? Looks like Sony just decided on the concept and hired a rather unknown developer to make the game. Though i guess Guerrilla, Media Molecule and United Front studios were also relatively unknown when they started out.
They should make Mass Effect 3 exclusive to PS3. Hardly anyone buys Mass Effect on the 360, and most of the non-Halo crowd is likely to switch to PS3 anyway by 2011 as the PS3 has about 15 awesome exclusives next year while the 360 has maybe one?
Resistance 2 coop was the best coop experience for me so far, and looks like Insomniac will use that experience.
I bet there the dodgy Captain will be the preferred character for a lot of people!
Its one of those great ideas that make you wonder why no one thought of it before - top-notch platforming/shooting gameplay and crazy weapons combined with online coop, just magical.
This game would be just perfect for Move.
So the number of preorders for Halo, weeks before launch, is already double the actual sales for Alan Wake or more than the lifetime sales for Lost Odyssey. I guess developers need to take note- no more exclusives for the 360, because only Halo sells on the 360.
Why would they be jealous? Hardly anyone on the Xbox cared for this game or played it anyway, Mass effect barely edged past 2 million on a console base of 40 million. I guess Bioware realised that Xbox owners only buy Halo and Gears, I guess Ubisoft must be comparing Splinter cell sales with those of MGS4, while the Alan Wake developers should shut shop soon, 5 years of development and 1/3rd the sales of Heavy rain
I guess not a difficult decision when 360 owners only buy Halo and Gears. The original Mass Effect cost maybe 5-10 times as LBP or 2-3 times as Uncharted, yet ousold by both with barely 2-2.5 million. Heavy rain, an off-beat title from an unknown developer, will probably end up with higher lifetime sales.
This is probably the one 360 game most PS3 owners wanted – the 360 can keep its lame, generic 10-million selling crap shooters
The graphics pecking order goes like this:
PS3 exclusive (KZ2/UC2, tramples every other game in the dust) >> 360 verson of multiplatform (GTA4, Mafia 2, Bayonetta) > PS3 version of multiplatform >> 360 exclusive (halo 3, Splinter Cell, L4D, cant even manage 720p most of the time)
Putting blu-ray, hard drive in every system, and not cutting down on quality even if it meant a higher-priced system
Dumping the PS2 backward compatibility. Whether you agree with it or not, that took guts at a time when the xbox-led media were going mad with the “PS3 has has no games and 360 is more powerful” mantra. Sony had the balls to tell gamers that in 1-2 years, they would produce games so good, you wouldn’t want to go back to PS2 games.

Halo, CoD and GT will always sell millions.
Just makes you respect Polyphony so much more -they could have churned out 2 GT games by now with minor improvements and made a ton of money, but they have much more pride than Bungie or Activision / IW
ME3 on PS3 is what I really want, the XBOX can keep its 10-million sellers.
Is either ME3 or UC3 really unannounced? We know both of them are under development and coming in 2011. Maybe take them out and add Resistance 3 and Valkyria Chronicles 3
