Yes, both ratchet and resistance are among the most underrated series. I hope they get the critical and commercial success they deserve with resistance 3 and the next ratchet game sounds like fun too.
Halo launched in 2001, Zelda and mario 3D in mid90s. Does that mean they can get away with the same, generic gameplay 10-15 years after they were incepted but any other game with similar gameplay gets hammered for being "unremarkable?"
are you talking about R2 or the other shooter that will sell 10 million this year? MoH, CoD, Halo, all unremarkable.
Why do PS3 exclusives need to cure cancer to be justified while Halo, Gears, Mario and Zelda get away with copy-paste game development
The problem with r2 is not that its "unremarkable" but the fact that it dropped so many good things about R1. The most imaginative set of weapons in a shooter I have seen, great atmosphere and story, excellent ...
No, Live Gold is renamed Live Rip-off
same as PSN free service, except for ads, no dedicated servers, more glitches, $60/year, more downtime, more screaming kids
This is probably the Vanquish 360 review. The PS3 version got a 5 for being repetitive, doesnt bring anything new or innovative and poor storyline.
huh?
You dont have spend a ton of money playing genuine games. Buy a few good ones at full price (usually to support developers I like, such as Insomniac or Santa Monica). Sell them after playing them to buy used games (older ones which would be available at say 20-30 used). Or buy platinium / lower priced editions. No need to do piracy, and you might spend 250-300 at most on games in a year
Which is why the wii and 360 are also done for - less exclusives combined than the PSP or PS3
I dont understand. Why are so many games so short? Is it because development costs are too high
Have you heard of Socom? Did online gaming better than Halo ever did
Delaying this to 2011 would be a big mistake - and not just because of GT5 fans. Sony's 2011 lineup is too crowded anyway, ideally GT5, LBP2 and Socom 4 should all have been out this year.
MAG, Heavy Rain, Demon's Souls, Valkyria, Ratchet. Five games that would have failed to hit even half a million on any other console. Years of regular online gaming on the PS3, and I have met just ONE group that was obnoxious and ONE instance of someone using a swear word (a child, who was promply told off by the other, adult players)
Well thats better, sounds like will be just 1-2 weeks late. I was afraid would be a serious delay, not just because of the delay but because would raise suspicion of something badly wrong with the game. Besides, provided a rare ray of sunshine for the wii360 camp as they wait another year for their next exclusive.
Surely the failure rate cant be that high - they have to keep 99 spares for the one kinect they hope to sell in the store?
Anyway, I will be buying one Move, and thats the only sale I am bothered about.
Sales will prove that Kinect is better than Move, even if Move has better games or enables more immersion. Unless, of course, Move sells more in which case sales do not define quality, and you must be a moronic fanboi for suggesting such a thing
according to Edge:
better than KZ2, Resistance 2 and Ratchet CIT, three of my favourite games, so must be a really good game. Almost as good as GoW3 (8/10). EA have produced a masterpiece - if you believe Edge.
How is it that, with the millions of GT fans, a troll comes out with a long post. Were you just waiting at your PC, for some GT article to come out so that you could post?
And why is it that any pro-GT post on a Forza thread, even if based on facts, get deleted but its ok to post absurd stuff like this: "GT5 lacked in graphics compared of Forza". GT5 is far superior in every aspect, but you could still argue about physics being better on Forza (even though you would...
"Enemies are pretty daft. These guys are supposed to have incredible knowledge of the terrain, but all they really do is hide behind rocks, helpfully popping their heads up at intervals, or run obligingly across open ground between cover points."
Makes me pine for KZ2 and it superb, underrated AI. I just don’t get how people love this kind of games (CoD another example) when their AI is so crude, often relying on liberal spawning of enemies rather than AI to challen...
The more I see the Move controls, more I like them: would be awesome to play games in a different way (more aiming sensitivity in a mouse-like fashion). The move would also be a good way to introduce the wife to gaming - let her use the Move while I use DS. LBP 2 is a perfect game for that, but can see a non-hardcore user getting into shooters such as this in co-op mode quite easily. Just hope the campaign has co-op.
You are late. What took you so long?
The reason they are cagey is because they know the critics will savage GT5 for reasons where Forza or Grid got a free pass. Graphics, content, physics, nothing can top GT5. But if drops below 60fps for a nanosecond, or there is a single glitch, any tiny part of the graphics looks sub-par, that will be enough for Edge or kotaku to give it a 6 or 7
