Stealing a camera angle is hardly a complete rip-off of another game.
When developer's develop the game MGS for example or any stealth TPS for that matter... the camera is free-roaming to allow for them to design. They simply lock it in or limit its range when they release it for play...
So... MGS players getting more camera freedom similar to SC is hardly a rip of anything.
I disagree. Those are pc release shots done at 720p or lower to simulate a console screenshot look. The demo didn't even look as good...
Here's where I get a little confused. The SCC graphics in the demo were ok at best but overall pretty mediocre for an exclusive. I was surprised how much it looked just like a typical multiplat game considering geow1/2 was able to make a much better showing using the same Unreal tech.
Neither my buddy nor I could say how SCC stood out anywhere, except for perhaps the beginning intro in a 10 x 10 bathroom stall... I would venture even to say these screenshots look alot cleaner t...
Got to play the demo today.... Talk about underwhelming. This game just doesn't feel any more sophisticated than the previous titles. Probably less so in my opinion. When you leave an after shadow of yourself and move to a different location, the AI is so stupid it just stays there and doesn't really patrol. The cover mechanic... kind of works... but nowhere near as well as Geow1/2. And the graphics are very typical Unreal engine graphics. The intro was good, but the level showcased was...
Where'd you get those uncharted2 shots? They look altered and far more muted than I've ever seen in the game. Were they shot off the TV?
Unfortunately I have to agree with some of the more zealous PS3 fans after reviewing the screenshots. They definitely downsampled the Uncharted 2 shots. You can tell because all the aliasing is gone. One of my complaints this gen, is you see all these console zealots trying to play off incomparable titles by comparing lower resolution shots. Really?
I say that what Remedy has managed to pull off so far with its small team is very impressive. I think once Alan Wake comes out, we'll be able to do a thorough comparison.
In terms of tech, the lighting is very impressive with Alan Wake. There is obviously less mo-cap though than uncharted 2. The environments at least in the house look as detailed as Uncharted 2. In terms of gameplay, I think Uncharted 2 definitely has alot more things and physics interactions going on than Al...
The differences are negligible... As long as they get rid of most of the pop-in and smooth the framerate, i would be happy anyway.
Glad I still got some japanese skills left. However, they did adapt the translation a bit. Bunker busters were grenades before in japanese. That and the grape joke was more about how the girl's were still budding... vs being raisins... cherry poppers. haha.

What you say is true... except for one tiny detail. GOWIII demo at 720p stayed 720p as a final improved product. If we use your analogy, then Conviction at 576p demo... will remain 576p.

haha. Pretty much every FPS's screen blurs and/or color bleeds when you get hit by bullets. KZ2 is not the exception to that rule. You are so full of it and you know it hahaha. How do you you even do a fair comparison when shots in this article are at 512 x 387??? At that resolution even GT4 would look comparable.

I dont' know, some of music is atrocious. But on the other hand, I do like one or two somber melodies. I guess I miss listening to more original works by Nobuo Uematsu though. His scores are pretty original and more importantly have a lot of depth. Most of the music in ffxiii i've heard are either generic atmospheric or don't seem to develop the composition very far. More like variations of a simplistic tune.
I couldn't get the whole dialogue but one of the funny lines was when the dining lady rocks her head back and says "All natural (organic) meat is sooooo delicious!" and the guy staring at her breasts thinks in his head, "Are those [delicious] mounds of meat reaaaaaally all natural???!"
