Where is this tripling you keep talking about JANF. Cite your sources please.
Is it me or do the graphics looks sharper? I remember the uniforms of the Helghan troops to be more muddled? Also the anti-aliasing seems to have taken a leap as well... The snow design reminds me of Uncharted 2's.
They shouldn't be allowed to blatantly throw crap out like that...
It's a news publication. We're supposed to expect some facts out of it.
I'm not getting this new either. Something along the lines of my thinking saying that I should pay 20%less than full retail... since i'm getting 80% of the resolution.
Id also hazard to add the change in air pressure and the subsequent rocking of the car from tunnels, arches, vibrations from the road, etc.
For a game that uses the exact same engine as it's predecessor. I highly doubt this game cost $100 million to make. Considering Fallout3 and other Bethesda titles haven't cost $100 million, this game hasn't exactly brought a whole lot of "new" technology to the table. The Rage Engine's already existed prior and so has Euphoria. What makes it even more obvious this is hype is the simple fact that the PS3 version is still the EXACT same "optimized" resolu...
I think it is a travesty that Rockstar is allowed to produce such crappy ports on the PS3 when most of their old fans bought the ps3 in order to
enjoy Rockstar games. Forget that the console wars for a moment. It's really sad that they would just take advantage of customer loyalty like that.
My guess is the flora and fauna of this game are pretty much randomly generated until you hit a town or mission location. Plus there isn't anywhere near as many trees, water, houses, cars, etc.
Yeah like the HUD. Seriously I knew this, "Alan Wake is composed of high resolution" elements was going to come back as a topic. Let me tell you something Eleven6, it doesn't matter how a high a res certain elements of the game are if at the end they downrez the whole screen to 540~6p. That's like me taking a 1600 x1200 image and resizing it 1024 x540p and remarking how the original image was 1600 x1200.
And no it is not like Killzone2, get your facts str...
First gameplay moment and there's a huge error with the game. Woman gets stuck to the floorboard trying to run away.... Don't they catch stuff like this pretty early on?
I enjoyed the intro...but boy am i worried now.
Seems to me that the Koreans studios are going to surpass Japan in MMORPGs as the predominant RPG source this gen. I can't help but be impressed by what some of these free to play titles are starting to shape up as.
The Gow progammer said gow III's MLAA looks better than 4X MSAA. Just pointing out that MLAA > 4XMSAA. At one point eurogamer said certain scenes in MLAA would exceed 16XMSAA. Anyway this tech is perfect for all future Sony first party titles to share.
Looking back on it, the 10mb EDRAM implementation on the rival console is looking much more limited these days. 2xFSAA on 720p or higher games and 4XFSAA with titles less than 720p. It was a good idea but looks like...
I don't know what you are referring to.... At 400 x 300 or whatever the resolution the scans are impossible to tell how good geow3 is. However, I will err to the side of "slightly improved" over Geow2, only because it isn't a new engine.
I think the review was pretty fair. I liked the atmosphere and gameplay but absolutely abhorred the dialogue/monologues. The voice actors were good, but the script just plain sucked. That and what they mentioned about reading the lost pages. The impending enemy boss should just pop up when he reads the pages... so as to make you dread picking up the pages and looking at them.
But overall it's a solid game.
I'm kidding. It did get my hopes up for nothing though... ;)
I should bubble you down contributor for providing pointless expired offers.
Actually the article said they went beyond 4xMSAA. Still very impressive :)
My impression this generation is that short of Crysis 1 and 2, the PC market doesn't have the number of comparable IQ quality games as what Sony is churning out. It's actually advantageous for you to buy a PS3 and check out what I'm talking about. The First party stuff from Sony is amazing even given the lower res. The budget these dev teams get to work with far outstrip what most of the PC developers have to work with. It shows in the texture detail and polish.
Since we're t...
According to digital foundry, the MLAA technique is comparable to 16xMSAA on a good implementation. And that was when they were talking about Saboteur which had some motion artifact, HUD, and edge detection issues. Santa Monica Studios was more than able to overcome those problems with GOWIII. That's mighty impressive considering most mid-level GPUS would grind to halt at that high of an equivalent MSAA.
I see current Radeon 4800-5800s being able to do this but nothing less....
You could tell based off of ri0tSquad's example?
