Watching the interview footage.... and noticed the grenade effects. Don't the grenade ring of smoke remind you of Uncharted big cloud of smoke animation? I think it does lol.
I dunno man... If KZ3 had as "much" things going on as Rage did looking at the demo footage, I'm pretty sure Guerilla could hit 60FPS. There just isn't that much physics interactions going on at the same time. And i'm sorry, but RAGE's animation and hit impact zones aren't anywhere near the same fidelity as KZs. That and I guarantee you sound won't either given the "limited" disc space we all have to live with for RAGE's design. I think that ...
and you like to fap to "fanboy". Queer for peer, gay for pay.
Wtf is with these over the top headlines that spew nonsense? The article test shows both the 360S and PS3 Slim shutting off to safeguard their interals... How does one beat the other for that??? I thought the whole point of this comparison was to see whether either console overheated and true to word, the 360 fat had REAL RROD issues.
Question: Will Microsoft have to redact their numbers since they use 'units shipped'? Or will they count it twice since it's shipped out and now it's shipping back? /s
That's nice except American Fashion is HUGE in Japan. Apple iPhones dominate in sales and people love McDonald's, Wendy's, Denny's, BurgerKing, Starbucks. Windows is near ubiquitous in the land of the rising sun. So no your reasons are ... very suspect. A truer assertion would be, most Japanese consumers don't like Microsoft hardware. Maybe it has to do with all the shooters.
hero, it only takes one victory to prove a winner.
In the basketball finals it only takes 4 games. So how many would you need to figure it out? Hopefully less than a "handful"
And no Enslaved is just starting to approach Uncharted 1. Crysis2 is a non-contender, and neither is geow3 using a multiplat engine. Just like Alan Wake wasn't, Fable3 wasn't, Crackdown Wasn't, Splinter Cell: Conviction Wasn't, or Halo:Reach, Halo3, Red Dead R...
I can't believe you're getting disagreed for barebones truth. Killzone2 HAS THE BEST Bullet impact hit detection. There is rarely any clipping with bodies when they hit the floor. LOOK AT IT and compare it to RAGE. NOT even in the SAME ballpark. Watch how the shoulder hitting a door jamb causes the body to crumple.

Fanboys are so in denial.
...
No... it was played on a PC and Sessler was told it was running the 360 version running on a PC.
I know there's a lot of 360 fanboys pining their hopes on ID beating out Guerilla on the graphical front, but with a budget difference of possibly $40-50 millions dollars, one doesn't need to think very hard which game is going to have the higher production values. It's already apparent looking at how static environments are in RAGE. The animations in RAGE are already stilted in comparison and that's where the discrepencies just begin. F**k fanboyism and use logic for a sec:...
You want to compare Pixar's sequels to Blizzards? How about we compare how many original pieces of work then? Blizzard is a far older company and it hasn't innovated since what like 90s? Blizzard just feeds off sequels and subscription fees. In 1994 I might've agreed with you, but no way in hell 2010.
Kotick's got a great teacher: Microsoft. If you've ever read any bios/history on MS, you would know that in the 90s Bill Gates & friends decided that they needed to figure out how to get a piece of the action that utility and insurance companies were getting in terms of monthly fees from consumers. The big problem was how to make it a mandatory "necessity".
Microsoft reasoned that if they could somehow put Office or some online application like email a...
Are they as fast as they come?
How is it illogical if PS3 owners have more 1st party exclusives to choose from as well as the same multiplats that 360 users have?
I don't know how old you guys are but at a certain point in your life, you kind of stop wanting to hunt for every single driver, accessory, or hardware component just to play a damn game. There's a convenience factor that you can get from having an integrated all-in-one system that works where a can-do-everything-but-u-have-c onfigure-it-yourself system sucks.
I don't want to be troubleshooting drivers for the rest of my life everytime I want to just sit down ...
It has to cut resolution because it is rendering 2 frames instead of 1. Perhaps you need to re-analyze your position. You obviously didn't read the article when they mentioned how KZ3 2D is rendering at 1280 x 1470. That is a HUGE resolution jump considering all the action going on. I mean if we have to be fanboy about it, let's recall Alan Wake framebuffer resolution was 960 x 540? That's like what a 1.363 million pixel difference or 3.6 times the resolution?
I dunno but if you "happen" to read the article Killzone3 2D's framebuffer is rendering the game at 1280 x 1470. Remind me how much stretching we're talking about from the predecessor's 1280 x 720.
I was wondering that myself. Perhaps it might be a hint at the scalability of this engine and how its already being built to suit the PS4. Didn't some lead designer or Yamauchi said they overkilled with modeling the car details for the premium vehicles and that they would suffice for the PS4?
That is jaw dropping good. They really improved on the engine/physics/graphics/presen tation. Look at all those sparks and debris bouncing on the ground. All those luscious calculated physics interactions O_O Rage's environment looks static next to this game's...
No kilts or bathrobes for the men... sigh.
