Don’t submit articles basing their stories on completely unnamed and anonymous sources?

It’s literally part of the TOS involving story submission here on N4G. 🤔

“according to two people familiar with the game’s release plans.” No names, affiliations, or accreditation. So for all anyone knows the writer is one of the sources.

“and now to next year, said those two sources, speaking anonymously so as to protect their careers.” No m...

@uptownsoul: “Microsoft did not immediately respond to a request for comment.”
From the story you’re referring to. The original story carries literally zero references as to their sources or even where they got the information from. It even says they did not get the information from a Microsoft representative as Microsoft didn’t comment to begin with. That is literally 100% unnamed sources and the information came from a 100% anonymous source with no origination. As Krib said, 100% a...

@No Way: THQ used to do the same with the WWF/WWE games. RAW was exclusive to Xbox and Smackdown! was exclusive to PlayStation.

I actually enjoyed the model as RAW was created specifically for Xbox where it had the opportunity to take advantage of the Xbox hardware and features while Smackdown! did the same on PlayStation.

Eventually though THQ gave in and created Smackdown! vs RAW which went multiplatform. When it did many things went out the window and ...

Game Pass extends to Windows already. They do not stream though and can be downloaded unlike PlayStation Now.

I’m sure they’ll do what they did last year and stream 4K via Mixer.

PS4 will feature “Dynamic 4K only on PS4 Pro”.

@morganfell: And so does Microsoft so what’s your point?

@IAmTylerDurden1: The Last Guardian was announced waaaayyyy before 2015 as it was originally intended to be a PS3 title that took too long and got reworked for PS4. Dreams was also announced first for PS3.

World of Final Fantasy and Firewatch are both multiplatform.

Except for in this instance in particular Microsoft and Nintendo aren’t doing it. The only one that is, currently, is Sony.

“We had to do similar thing to get our trailer on Sony's channel.”

So what you’re saying is that Sony is asking for censorship when submitting content to them? And it’s the middle mans fault?

What you just said would solidify that it is Sony, not Bungie. As Bungie produced the content that Sony would then be altering or seeking alteration.

To be clear as well the clips for any other platform outside of PlayStation and Sony run chann...

One could argue it is a criminal act to alter content that was not produced by Sony, for alluding the idea that the property is solely for Sony by eliminating context that shows that the product is third party, misrepresentation, and other factors.

They’d literally by altering third party content to assert exclusivity.

So yes? It is actually criminal. That’s just US law too. I’m sure European courts would have a hay day.

It’s Bungies promotional video for Destiny 2, a third party multiplatform title.

Sony has to have touched it for it to be uploaded to Sony outlets. Unless Sony gives out passwords & private information to third parties.

“Amazingly, Sony Photoshopped PlayStation inputs into footage of the Xbox version of Anthem just last year -- Sony did not comment on the situation and promptly pulled the video when the news broke out.”

So they’ve done it before along with the fact that the only place the video is edited is via Sony outlets.

Yeah, how dare Bungie promote their cross platform title as cross platform rather than catering to Sony. /s

In particular when you can see they are on a PC. Ya know. The same PCs that have official drivers for Xbox controllers that don’t have official drivers for PS4 controllers as Sony hasn’t released those. So Bungie can bypass the need for a dongle as new Xbox One controllers include Bluetooth and those drivers will self install.

Even Xbox 360 controll...

I saw Microsoft’s E3 2017 event. Please do inform me how Sony delivered but Microsoft did not.

When both of them missed things from their respective showings.

But thanks for the bias. I’m glad a story about Sony delivering on promises from E3 2017 sees individuals stating they just delivered everything and then some while apparently Microsoft delivered on nothing.

Fun fact: Neither is true. Sony didn’t deliver everything they promised o...

Yes, god forbid someone call it how it is instead of praising the almighty Sony for doing more than they actually did along with ignoring the fact that again, Sony did not deliver everything they claimed.

@chrisx: Is that why the Nintendo Switch version of Resident Evil 7 is completely cloud based?

Is that also why Sony is pushing services like PlayStation Now, PlayStation Vue, and other streaming alternatives? Also why video content on PS4 is all streamed rather than downloaded?

The real conclusion is no, Sony did not deliver everything from E3 2017.

Days Gone was slated as a 2018 release at E3 to be bumped into 2019. Star Child hasn’t had a real update since nor a set release window.

Third party titles including Monster Hunter, Call of Duty, Marvel vs Capcom, Destiny 2, & Skyrim were all done by a third party. Sony didn’t deliver these. Their respective developers and publishers did.

“And then some”. What ...
