Yup, that must be why Sony isn’t allowing crossplay with Switch, mobile, or PC either. While Microsoft is. /s

I’m sure there’s more PS4 users playing Fortnite compared to all those platforms together. Since they allow together. /s

According to reports the Xbox One X is outselling the PS4 Pro

https://www.express.co.uk/e...

Some basics:
Sony says one out of every ten PS4s sold are the Pro model since the launch of PS4 Pro. PS4 was already at 50 million at the time of the Pro launching. Running the 85 million number now would result in 35 mill...

You can move phones and phone numbers to another carrier without losing a thing. Many games on mobile allow you to connect to services such as Facebook or Google to save progress that can be picked up upon sign in to said service.

Games like Grand Theft Auto on mobile also allow cloud saving where with a Rockstar account you can sign in on another device and continue where you left off.

It’s even completely possible to transfer content from Android to iOS...

@KingThrash360: I actually want to know what your point is.

If Microsoft shutting it down LAST GEN was a bad thing how is Sony doing it NOW better?

Then would that not be admitting that Microsoft for the largest part has new representatives this time around compared to last time that are aiming to change policies for the better while Sony goes the other way?

As I recall also there was a MASSIVE PSN breach last gen where millions of piec...

@kevnb: Except for if reports are to be believed Xbox One X has outsold the PS4 Pro. So that’d be another reason.

@BeardedDrachen: It’s not Sony’s algorithm nor game. Fortnite nor Epic are owned by Sony. This is third party work.

Epic created the algorithm already for Fortnite which will exist everywhere but PlayStation. Epic also created the game itself. Sony has absolutely nothing to do with either.

If they already have a Xbox One and their worries are about the potential for better quality then yes, they upgrade.

The $500 bit is cute though as if their concerns are yours then they trade or sell the base Xbox One effectively dropping the price point they’d have.

So a current Xbox One owner worried about graphics and performance available on Xbox One X would spend around $300.

I mean they’re judging performance, correct? Couple in t...

Because it’s easier to scale down from Xbox One X rather than up from anything else?

I think I’d crucify a messenger delivering a message they don’t quite understand. Based on the idea you don’t know how to answer the questions presented.

What did you hope to accomplish with said “message”? All of the above would be easily answerable with a complete picture and understanding, neither of which are presented. 🙄

Uh...

Considering both those versions exist and they’re both included in crossplay together wouldn’t that algorithm already exist on everything but PS4?

What’s worse is that’d effectively be an Epic algorithm, not Sony. So why is Sony then censoring and claiming ownership of a property that is not theirs?

“a member of the Youtube community” - Wtf? What does the “member of the YouTube community” have to do with either Sony or Epic Games?...

The Switch in many ways does resemble a NVidia Shield but without first breaking the console where do you think the emulators come from?

To gain a fully functional emulator you’d have to know how the system executes the software and what workarounds are being used currently.

Cross platform play is already here. It’s just that Sony doesn’t want to take part in many instances.

@Razzer: In this instance SE provided the fact that their total includes digital

“Square Enix announced shipment and digital sales for NieR: Automata have surpassed a combined three million units.”

@kevnb: Not likely over 2 million solely on PS4 alone as you are correct, SE announced a total of 3 million between PC & PS4, both physical and digital.

EDIT: According to vgchartz the PS4 version has moved 1.42 million. If it’s accurate less than half are playing on PlayStation.

It is when it’s admitted also that the iOS version is just an altered PS2 version with higher resolution, achievement support, and cloud save functionality. The only thing missing for the largest part is Hot Coffee & two player support.

What is listed above is a “long-standing policy” which would cover “apparent “business” conflicts” as the way Steam Link works breaks that policy. Again, many platform holders such as Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo don’t want companies selling their goods outside of the network stores.

Didn’t read the story, did you.

“The change does not void Apple’s long-standing policy that no iOS app may host an app store of its own and allow users to purchase and download software not approved through its own marketplace.”

Many companies have this policy. Apple updated their terms for a possible solution that still allows them to protect iOS, themselves, and their customers.

...Why would Apple have anything to do with Steam policy...

Jason Schreier produced something that journalists learn first hand and early isn’t a good piece of news.

1) No real sources
2) No input from Microsoft
3) Over half of it is written as an opinion, not fact
4) Only references having sources twice and again, no accreditation to the sources, their origins, any link to industry knowledge, or ties to Microsoft

If you get it you know why it failed and why Krib in this instance was one...

Exactly. So you infused an off topic comment in an attempt to downplay Xbox and to talk up the competition. In an article not about the competition. Knowingly due to yourself deciding to skew what another individual says.

I couldn’t give two fucks about “what...
