Sony never had rights to begin with.
Crash and Spyro originated under Universal Interactive Studios. Naughty Dog was a backlot studio for them until 2001.
Vivendi took rights to Spyro and Crash from there. Activision bought out Vivendi from there giving them the rights.
A lot of Sony and Microsoft exclusives use dedicated servers so why can’t Nintendo? Isn’t that why they started charging for network access on the Switch?
It’s just another sign Nintendo isn’t taking online seriously even after starting to charge for their network.
So then Sony can’t do what MS and other companies have successfully done? Like upgrade content?
The simple reason why Sony is against BC is because they don’t own most of the content that old. Sony couldn’t deliver full backwards compatibility on PS3, namely on the digital front. It also failed to deliver a half decent product with half decent games when they brought out PlayStation Classic.
@Skippy: I’ve got to agree with them. You clearly know nothing about business.
You do realize their game division is made up of more than Game Pass, correct? Microsoft was paying for first party, licensing, and infrastructure long before Game Pass. The infrastructure itself has long been documented to be there in the form of Azure.
I’m thinking the only undisciplined one right now may be you. Quick to talk about what you clearly don’t know about and extre...
The light bar was there before PSVR was announced. Probably even before PSVR was a concept or prototype.
The light bar was put there to track movement with the PlayStation Camera exactly like how the PlayStation Eye reads the PS Move.
Ironically Sony already does what Brazz said. That’s literally a feature of the PS Vita touch pad.
Ironically that also says that Sony could have learned sooner about how terrible of an idea the touch pad is. It failed on Vita. Why wouldn’t it also on PS4?
@Ristul: Sony introduced a separate adapter to use PS2 controllers on PS3
PS3 controllers have no functionality on PS4
PS5 will be no different. Sony has even argued this gen that such things aren’t important as it’s old tech or old content. Sony fans clearly agree it’s ok for Sony to keep going this direction.
Yeah, every consumer should break open a product potentially under warranty to repair it themselves at a cost. When manufacturers are accountable. /s
I mean it’s not rocket science. Removing screws and components not meant to be replaced over a removable cover and options is so much better. /s
And individuals should have to take all the aforementioned steps to upgrade to a battery with better battery life. It’s not like the battery in the controller isn’t...
Who cares? It’s not like Naughty Dog is the same Naughty Dog is used to be or that they’re involved with CTR in any way, shape, or form.
I’m glad Activision has this remaster. Activision has been putting out absolutely top tier remasters with more effort than any other company to make that product better, not the same old same old.
““That left Crash Team Racing with more bugs than most of the other Naughty Dog titles,” says Rubin. “CTR crashed. CTR gave n...
Which Sony could provide if they were to partner with a better battery manufacturer. Where it would cost them significantly less than the consumer to add in a better quality, longer lasting battery.
Ironic that this really isn’t much different. You want a better kind of battery for you on Xbox? Buy a different kind of kit but the option of batteries is still there. Even running a cable with no batteries.
You want a better battery for your DS4 and same thi...
...M’kay?
How do things typically go? Do companies launch complete services across the globe or do they have test beds?
So to go worldwide they’d have to have a base first. Logic says Nintendo HQ is in Japan, the same Japan where streaming is available. Thus it would be Nintendo’s ideal test bed.
So I hold my statement. It is and has happened. You’re kidding yourself to say otherwise. As you did.
“That's coz they didn't exist back then. What a stupid comment.”
Yeah, very stupid. Talking about content from a one to one perspective since you in fact introduced the argument of “Funny how it wasn't a problem during the Xbox times exclusive days.” while proceeding to shift blame to Microsoft for something Sony is doing. Currently. Like right now.
The stupid comment was yours to begin with. You label a stupid practice that Microsoft did prio...
If it’s already happening and has happened in the past it is possible in the future too. Even less far fetched.

1) No mention of it running on the hardware; As evidenced in Japan it would be possible to stream
2) They don’t specifically state it WILL come to Switch. They actually state they are working on the Xbox One and PS4 versions first then other versions may come later.
It has been demonstrated in Japan that Switch can stream games it can’t run. It would be possible for EA to offer a service to do as much.
https://kotaku.com/in-japan...
Sony does it with PS3 games via PS Now that PS4 can’t run.
Yeah? Like those cloud streamed titles available only in Japan for Switch? Ya know, those games that didn’t or couldn’t receive a physical variation.

It’s not even a few weeks anymore. Content for Black Ops 4 is timed exclusive for 7 days.
This piece was added to fuel the flames. Nothing more. This can be justified as the original source is the Treyarch blog as given credit in the story. That should actually be what’s directed to as it’s the original source with full information.
““Given these changes to the League Play structure, we’re taking a few extra weeks to implement and test the new changes, and the launch of the World League Hub and League Play is now slated for our next major game update planned for mid-February, first on PS4,” reads a Treyarch blog post.”
First, not only. Plus PS4 exclusivity for Black Ops 4 is one week.
The first year was confined to PS4 only due to Sony buying timed exclusive rights
