anast,

You don't know what the system is worth lol,

You don't know the exact specs, what games, or what features the system has; all you officially know is how the system looks. But yeah, you know it's "too much for this."

The solid thing to do is to wait and see what is on offer, then make such a solid claim. A good example would be how I waited to see what the PS5 Pro offered and then knew that I did not think it...

Good points, but another way would be to drop the price, which they probably won't do anytime soon.

Since it took PS2 a while to reach 160 million number, even when PS3 was on the market, the Switch has the same potential to mimic that by remaining on the market even after the Switch 2 releases, it may take 2-3 more years, but it would still qualify as the highest selling console.

Raul, outside,

Man you guys wanna fight.I'm not even sure Gold_Drake cares as much as you two.

You win, lol.

@ Outside,

Yeah, but missing humor in something is not a big gotcha moment (especially in text form). I didn't even argue with Raul, I simply asked a question and pointed out that it was still a first-party game, and then even admitted that I was confused and did not get the humor, then acquiesced.

Not finding something funny and not knowing something was a joke are two different things. The fact that I admitted that much, and you two still came in he...

I really don't understand the correlation between what you posted and this comment, this is about a single game, and the game being first party or "respected ".

The things you mentioned is irrelevant and a major stretch at best.

Me not seeing the humor in post stating that a game may possibly be somehow less respected because it's multiplatform is just plain and simple. I asked a few questions and made a factual statement, and when he sa...

I was not offended.

I was more confused by the "joke" as it didn't really contain any really humor.

My bad if I offended you by asking questions and making an observation about your joke

My bad.

405d ago 2 agree21 disagreeView comment

So now it's less "respected"?

It's also still a first party game.

I think the fact that many more people will play it would make it more "respected"

I am now fully convinced that almost all, if not all, Xbox games will go Multiplatform. Will they all be same-day releases on all platforms, or will they stagger them like Indy?

I hope this enables them to keep creating hardware and offering GP, as I still think it's a fantastic service.

405d ago 2 agree20 disagreeView comment

I am convinced.

My only hope is that they keep releasing hardware, this way we get a lot more players across great titles like this.

2% seems low to some of you, but but if I recall GP had 34mill subscription across Xbox and PC...let's say that number remains the same, that would mean that they added 680,000 new users..how is that bad? Potentially adding $10-$13.5 million to the overall pot.

That is a fair adoption rate for GP especially for one game, considering that some people actually paid full price for the game on Xbox and PC, and the lions share coming from PS.

Profchaos,

Again I agree with you on some points, like hardware still being a good factor, but in MS case the situation is different, each gen, they sell 30-40 million consoles, that is the diehards Xbox fans that will most likely remain with the ecosystem, and a great deal of their GP subs, so if that is the average cap, that 30% they share out to other platforms becomes lucrative because they retain the same 30-40 million while adding the 70% from other sources, they lose...

Profchaos,

While your comment has rings of truth, you are completely ignoring that the landscape has changed over the last 20 years, with innovations in game distribution, mobile gaming, cloud, services, MTX, DLC, Live-service games, PC ports, sub-services, digital-only releases, and multiplatform games there are far more ways for companies to make money/profit than the standard sold box metric, this is a fact.

Some might have said that Blockbuster would...

Crash,

Money is what Sony would gain, as mediocre as it sounds in comparison to PS sales, 30-40 million users is a base that can spend money, be it on game sales, or MT. Look at Square, they are ditching the exclusive deals and pledging more for Xbox/multiplatform releases.

I am not suggesting Sony will put all of its exclusives on Xbox, but they should, and probably will start to port smaller(Lego: Horizon) games, and more than likely Live service games....

Because it's the same amount of consoles every gen, it ain't growing...but you know what is? Games and services dev cost.

You need to understand this is a business, and if they don't find a way to increase profit internally to offset the rising cost, then we, the customer will pay for it, $90 games, and 1k consoles, will be in our future. The PS 5 Pro is just the start, and it's working, no way PS6 will be less than $800.

407d ago 7 agree22 disagreeView comment

Huh, a developer who is not part of MS initiated the conversation, and clearly is the one who stated that Sony will do multiplatform.

It's ok if people agree with him, has nothing to do with your console war mongering, it's a discussion about sustainability and money.

407d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

See that is the problem, the "magnitudes" of consoles constantly remain the same 120-160 mill, it's not growing or going up...but game development cost and time is skyrocketing.
The only ways around this situation is to offset the cost to consumers, by increasing the cost of games and consoles, at this rate, games will cost $90-$100, and consoles pushing $800-1k.

So it's either the cost is offloaded to consumers or, they get the games to more peop...

It's really really fun, but I always liked D4.

I been playing PoE2 which is also fun, but D4 has pulled me away for now.

POE2 has some things l like better than D4, like the synergy between skills, music, and the boss fights are excellent. D4 wins in the amount content, fluidity of gameplay, and major quality of life features.

I know PoE2 is still early access, so I'm looking forward to some improvements.

I don't own a PS5 Pro, bummer. I would like to play Doom with the enhancement, but not for $700+$70.

Gamepass it is then.

And there it goes, particular the "It doesn't work for us"
That is a fact, they have been trying and keep falling short. This new path, is due out of necessity, and the plug is that it has real potential to actually work, it took a lot of fumbling from MS to have to see a bigger pi...

Venom,

"Starfield's potential release on other platforms has become a barometer, a key indicator, on whether Xbox will go completely third-party."

I see what your are saying, but, I believe Halo is the barometer for if they are going full multiplatform. If Halo launches on PS, then that is the full confirmation.

Additionally, yes, 3rd party makes sense technically, but the term multiplatform would be more appropriate, as t...
