Fox,
That was a very straight forward, to the facts assessment to Sony's live service push, and I agree 100%.
I see a lot of people deflect, and somehow bring up MS, or just say everything is fine, which overall Sony is fine, but their Gaas push since 2022 has been terribly lackluster, and disruptive to their usual delivery of numerous high quality content that they develop.
Astro Bot was great.
I'm so ready, F'ing love Doom!
I will play this day 1 on S/X.
The first game was super fun.
It's called reaching, and it's a symptom of being stuck in a fictional console war, even though the game is on PS5 lol.
His entire post was a hard, hard reach that when he wrote it, he was absolutely aware that it made no sense, and haphazardly constructed, especially leaving out PS5, the largest install base. He could not fight the overwhelming urge because of his blind dislike of MS...so what does he do? he posted it anyway without care of embarrassing himself.
anast,
"At least the numbers I provided give a sketch of what's going on"
No sir, it did not, you didn't even count PS5 lol.
"By the looks of it not a lot of people are buying it."
Huh? Twitch and Steam DB is what your whole "Sketch" is based on, don't make me laugh, it doesn't even make sense, not everyone uses Twitch, and the game is available on way more than Steam, and...
Congratulations on a great remaster...I played the opening and man does it look great, and the combat hits actually has a bit of omf to it.
I will get to it at some point, still playing Avowed, South of Midnight is next, and then CO: E 33..Damn MS, slow down lol.
Yeah, let's listen to you anast and not an official release from the developers, because, you know, he used twitch and steam peak numbers and his calculator lol...
@ bad
I think Mario: Odyssey looks better than Knack games, and not too far off of first Astrobot, I think smash brother looked better than PlayStation All stars, I think Breath of the Wild looks better than Atomfall, and in some respects Eden Ring .
Overall some Nite do games seems to punch above their weight..this is known.
4 games is a good amount of playtime and easily over $100, and I would argue that playing their game on GP is supporting the dev, They track that type of stuff and were paid from MS for it being there.
Additionally it raises interest in a dev, and IP which is a big deal for ongoing development.
My point being , you playing on GP would still let them know you are playing, and your comment in no way dispells thae fact of the topic that GP is a great value ...
That sounds perfectly fine to me..Nintendo always managed to make games look better than many high end consoles games... Metroid Prime games, Mario: Odyssey, MK8, Zelda: Breath of the wild, Zelda:Wind Waker, Donkey Kong: and a few other still look great on so much weaker hardware.
So to get better than PS4, they will work magic.
@Notorious
Exactly this!!
Good stuff, I'm 1/2 way through Avowed, started South of Midnight, and downloaded Oblivion lol.
Playing Avowed now, and loving it!!
I never heard anyone call it a "Killer App", most fans peg it as "The best value in gaming"...but not killer app.
When I read the headline, I thought it was about the Xbox mobile phone app.
Anyway, GP is Fantastic.
"We need MS to release the console a year before Sony to get some market share otherwise get ready for even more price hikes and remakes/remasters"
I'm not sure I see that happening. PS's die-hard fanbase is almost like Nintendo's, so they will wait.
even more so now that MS is releasing their games on everything...just look how well MS games are doing on PS, the fanbase refused to buy an Xbox to play the games, even though they were intereste...
You can play the game on PC, Xbox, mobile phones, TVs, Meta Quest, and soon PS.
Through GP, or purchase, that's a fair amount of options, not to mention the game has been out for a while now, and already had a good player base, and with the added points of entry, it don't seem impossible.
Wow...seeing good games shine is always a good thing.
Blurring lines between console seems to be working out for MS, it was a desperate Hail Mary that appears to be heading for a touchdown.

I will; I mostly play digital games, but thank you for your concerns about my finances.
Switch 2 will be great!
People keep talking about wait 2 years and it will be outdated, but I think graphics are reaching a saturation point. We will still get some games that really stand out, but at the same time the majority of games for the next 5-6 years will be able to run on the Switch 2..quote me on that.
It's like PS Vita, not as powerful as the PS3 put able to run some really good looking games, just like the steam deck raises that bar, the ...
Silver, I disagree.
Nintendo sells consoles primarily off of their exclusive content that you can't get anywhere else ever. I will add that that content is regarded by many as some of the best in gaming, if not the best, along with a super loyal fanbase, nostalgia, and the most popular IPs ever created. The system will run exclusive 3rd party games as well as playable ports of current and future games for the next 4-5 years, the majority of casual gamers don't care ...
