The # of gamers that own gaming PCs is small because of its high cost of entry AND upkeep. We know that for a fact. Has the number grown over the past few years, yes.

To assume because they spent 1-3K building a computer that buying a console is no big deal is asinine. Do some own consoles yes.

The thing that many people like infected are trying to say is that because the X1 exclusives are coming to PC that there is no reason to ...

@N4RC

You hit the point right on the head.

Though I wouldn't describe whets going on as hurting the people who own X1 and gaming PCs.

Dude the Haters on here are going to claim every rumor is true, every X1 owner also has a gaming PC, and the X1 is going away. HAHA its hilarious.

But you know they say the people with the most to lose scream the loudest. This is a great feature for both the PC and X1. hopefully the X1 gets PC games too.

@Infected

The X1 is doing quite well. You claim otherwise all you want but the FACT is 20 million + people own an X1 and few of them have gaming PCs. Every exclusive can come to PC and still console gamers will buy consoles. You assume all the people who will buy the X1 will now run out and buy gaming PCs or upgrade their current one and that's just pure nonsense. Console gamers are a distinct market. Yes there is an overlap but its small at best.

@Hoffman

That's so few people, who cares. Its not like you now cant play games on the X1. That is the group all the detractors are focusing on and choose to only look at it in a negative way.

The vast majority of console gamers don't own a gaming PC. Period. And those that do can continue to enjoy the X1. All it does is give people that do own a PC a choice. Is that a bad thing??

It's funny cats like you are working hard 24/7 right now to spin all news about the X1 as bad. It's no different than TF being mp only, ea access killing gaming, RoTR won't sell at all. And now this.

Well let's look at the facts in hindsight shall we?

- TF is STILL being played to this day on X1. I never have issues finding a game
- EA access has brought even more value to the X1 and is loved by consumers.
- RoTR sold over 1...

@Mike

You are exactly who I'm referring to when I talk about fanboy bias.

Let me ask you something since you're so business savvy; If you don't own a gaming PC how do you play X1/PC exclusives on your PS4/Wii U? Is there a chip or app you download?

So are you inferring that a consumer who is considering a X1 when they find out that the games are coming out for PC as well are going to instead build a gaming PC vs. just plugging in ...

I think we all need to agree on one thing right now; if you own a really nice PC there isn't as much incentive to buy an X1 especially if the exclusives come out for both. And that's OK (for the PC consumer AND MS). But as I read people's reaction to this, this is the group everyone is focusing on. Yes they exist. But to what degree? Once we've identified the number what % of them will buy an X1 anyway as many of their friends have it and it shares an eco system with their PC?...

@Outside

Whether you knew SF was coming to PC from the start doesn't matter. NO one in the Comment section was saying that the PS4 release of the game now meant nothing since its coming to PC. They are saying that about this game as if no one will buy it for X1.

Whenever someone trys to say they are getting a game on PC over the PS4 people go crazy and say how no one cares about the "PC master race" and how much better it is to game on the c...

Haha the comments here crack me up! I didn't realize SO many people owned all these awesome PCs

When MS announces a game for PC all of a sudden everyone has the "PC/PS4" combo. strange

Im sorry where did you get the statistic that "Most people have a pc capable of playing video games on at least low settings"?

I make a great living and I don't even own a computer to send emails let along play games.

I also don't believe I'm alone.

@Volkama

Only when Sony does something that's good for the gamers do people on N4G cheer.

@Septic

I love how people say any game that comes to X1 and PC = massive blow to the X1. But if it comes to PS4 and PC (ie SFV)its no big deal.

The game is going to sell great for both X1 and PC, on top of great bundle sales for the X1.

Which is good for MS, the developers, and gamers.

EDIT: Also as I read down all of a sudden everyone now owns gaming PCs. Did everyone buy them yesterday or this morning because I'...

I understand that as a free human playing a game that I may or may not do as much or as little as I please.

That said I do like to find stuff I just don't appreciate when a game takes something I enjoy and turns into a grind all to increase the length of a complete play through. That's the only reason developers do it. Look at the last AC game it had something like 1000 items to find.

In Europe they do big numbers like this:

430.000,00

That looks super weird. Not saying its wrong or bad so settle down, but a comma indicates a break and a continuing thought or number in this cause. A period means the end.

I agree its a great game. 10 seems a little strong, and the main reason I say that is because how much random S$%^ you have to find. the first game was like 100 collectables which was very manageable. This game is like 350. That's way to many and makes a grind instead of making it fun.

@DarOcelet

You're assuming that there are still 80 million people that own X360s. I think that is very unlikely.

But even if your number is true that means the first game launched to about 200+ million gamers (360,PS3,PC) and the second released to 100 million gamers. So it sold half to about half as many gamers.

It doesn't matter in truth how much it sold as someone on here will spin it as a failure since it didn't launch o...

This article is about NPD. NPD only tracks US sales. So to argue that NPD should track other countries is fine but that's not what this article is about.

That said man PS faithful have been on something recently. It's like you cats are bound and determined to tell every soul how amazing the PS4 is. It won't Change what ppl hate about it or what ppl like about the X1 and vise versa. But it's like a meeting took place and you cats have...

When was the last time a crash happened this soon after a crash? On top of that every year people say a crash is coming this year. Its become something you could program your clock to.

Businesses and people alike have more cash on hand now than they pretty much ever have. I read a statistic that said in the 3 years after the 2008 crash Americans saved more money (in investment accounts and savings accounts) than the previous 10 years! People are much better buffered from ha...
