That link proves nothing. It's simply copying and pasting the X1/PC box art. Did MS pay for exclusivity? Yes. The rest doesn't matter.
And guys above. Please. Please. Stop acting like SF5 was saved by Sony. Sony saw they needed money and stepped in. If you're trying to say not one other publisher would have stepped in for a franchise as big as SF you're insane. Who even knows how long the developer was looking for money when Sony raised their hands. It could ...
Doesn't steam basically control the PC gaming market as things sit? GwG gets some play but Steam where most PC gamers game is a closed system correct?
Isn't Windows 10 free? And isn't it a decent OS?
The only people I see complaining about X1 games going to PC are the fanboys (read; you) who want to see the system fail. No game has been made specifically with DX12 yet. So you haven't actually seen what it can do. So maybe you should just shhh...
Dude you've read the comments on this people here buy anything negative about MS.
The Infected who's the first post does nothing but throw shade at MS and Xbox. Shocking he's so hurt by this lol.
It's just a way for those who don't like the X1 to down play this latest move.
@michael.
Holy crap well said!! Most of the people that care about articles like this don't own an X1, or don't like MS. But sure have a lot to say on the subject
@Overlord
And with 20 million consoles sold. What does that mean?
So true.
I always find it funny that some people seem utterly incapable of letting that go. The console was great day one and has only gotten better.
#moveon
If they are able to bring some games that were/are/would be exclusive to PC to X1 because of the shared architecture would that amount to more commitment to you?
Is the ONLY way to judge commitment by how many exclusives a console has?
Would a "console" exclusive i.e. not on PS4 be beneficial to the X1?
If MS releases more "console" exclusives than it did last gen, would you consider that increased commitment?
Didn't Apple just put out a new larger far more expensive tablet because power users wanted nothing to do with the ipad and went with the Surface? Sounds like Apple is chasing MS share.
@343
You're 100% wrong. MS is going to leave the living room. I mean no ever sits there anyway. Everyone sits at their computer. They eat at the computer, read at the computer, they even computer at the computer. There is no reason to have a big presence in the living room. Who likes big comfy couches and big tvs. Not me or any other gamer. Get it together man.
Im not trying to be mean but now that every exclusive is coming to PC everyone one is going...
@Rain
People who prefer to play on console will 9 times out of 10 continue that. There is no reason to rush out and get or upgrade a PC. Why not just keep doing what your doing? Lol Just because QB is on PC doesn't make people think "that's how I want to game now, all of a sudden"
But you're assuming that those with mind range PCs prefer to play on them. Console gaming blew up because people love playing on their couch with their big TV and nice surround sound. On top of the plug and play nature of consoles.
MS would never risk their place in the living room. I think the issue is people believe that console gaming and PC gaming are the same market and gamer. When in fact PC gamers for the most part only game on PC, and console gamers, again for t...
@Captain
"Sigh... I donno, pope, maybe the people with capable PCs that bought an xbone because MS didn't tell them about this plan?"
This doesn't mean you cant play AND enjoy your X1. Yes now you have the option where you want to play and will get a copy for BOTH platforms. So sad for you. MS are such meanie heads. Yes that's what complaining from the PC crowd sounds like in this aspect. MS has always been a PC company, is this move...
While your right, the number of people who DONT have a "mid-highend" PC is vastly higher than those that do.
SO Ultra, let me ask you; does this news about X1 games coming to PC cause most gamers who haven't upgraded yet build PCs or buy X1s?
@Death
The points that are really important that the vast majority of people above are missing are as follows:
- While yes there is less incentive for those with very capable PCs to buy an X1, that number pales in comparison to those who don't and will buy a PS4 or X1 or both as plug and play is the way the vast majority of people want to play games.
- MS would NEVER risk losing what share of the living room they have gained. I repe...
Based on what MS did with the X1 controller if they got into the Steam Machine business and took on the challenge of making a truly universal gaming pad so I can play Total War and control my units with precision that would be an amazing system. They could offer multiple skus while making sure games (ie exclusives) run at the minimum sku while allowing the games to scale based on which one you have.
@Abizzel
"Ask the majority of late comers in the technology-manufacturing field how that works outs for them in the last decade alone."
Samsung says hi! They literally took what Apple did and did their version of it. They even go sued for it. IF you enter the tech department late, yet do it with a great product people will buy it they don't care.
"...and significantly smaller install base as far as console market share goes...
I think you are vastly overstating the VR situation. If VR launched TODAY even at that super low price which is highly unlikely. It will be 3 to 5 years before things ramp up to mass market level. Look at it this way. Developers need 3+ years with new hardware to make regular video games. Now try to create an entire VR experience. Assuming it takes off. To many variables.
Let's say it does take off this is the technology world. MS get to see what doesn't work with bo...
I'm not saying that there aren't a lot of PC gamers. But the ONLY games I CONSTANTLY see people say "I'm going to play it on PC" is QB and any game that's exclusive to PC/XB1. Multiplat games don't see that much attention from PC gamers.
So is it MS has really dialed in what PC/X1 gamers like or is it that in an effort to troll people are acting as if they own PCs? I've been on this site a while and so I feel pretty confident its the latter....
Between X1 and PC it's sold like 6 million copies. By the end of January. With 4 coming from PC. That's a successful game no way of hiding that.
